Summary

  1. Ind 1-0published at 0.1 overs

Mark Adair starts with a wide but there's definitely still movement out there.

He recovers next ball, as Rohit prods into the covers for no run.

Here come the India openers, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who are roared to the crease as they always are.

I'm so intrigued by how they'll approach this, and also very excited to see how Josh Little bowls.

India's target is 97. Easy, right...?

    Cheers, Mike.

It was an innings of chaos, of fun, of ridiculousness but personally, I loved it.

Comprehensive from India with the ball but we saw South Africa's powerhouse batting line-up struggle to chase 78 the other day. Are we in for another tense one?

Partnerships of 27 and 19 for the tenth and eleventh wickets took Ireland's score towards respectability, but the flip-side of that is it shows that this pitch isn't so devilish that runs can't be scored on it.

The India innings is coming up - here's Ffion Wynne who'll take you through it.

A disappointing end as a run-out completes a miserable batting display from the Irish.

Ireland have Gareth Delany to thank for giving them them a glimmer of hope but 96 is well short of a competitive total.

Delany's knock was a rare postive and now it's up to the bowlers to take early wickets.

With so few runs to play with it's an almost impossible task to pull off a shock win but this wicket gives them the opportunity to shine and take confidence into the remaining three group games.

India should, and very easily could, chase this down very quickly but a couple of early wickets and you just never know. Josh Little will be fancying his chances on this pitch.

  8. 'We were very disciplined'published at 17:02 British Summer Time 5 June

India all-rounder Hardik Pandya: "It's always special to play for your country, making sure that I give 100%. I love performing at World Cups and I hope it continues like that.

"It was an outstanding effort from everybody with the ball and taking some catches that weren't very easy. It was a fabulous performance.

"The first wicket was a pleasing one, I don't hit the stumps that often because I usually bowl back of a length. But I worked out that I needed to go fuller on a surface like this to take wickets.

"Today as a bowling unit we were very disciplined. It's a very fun atmosphere here in the USA, we've had brilliant support as we always do everywhere around the world. We are very grateful to all the fans for coming out today."

Delany had to be facing the next over, so they either had to run two or not run at all. It's a shambolic end to an innings of chaos.

Ireland have somehow managed to get one of their batters run out off a no-ball and they have left some runs out there, frustratingly.

Delany run out 26 (Ire 96 all out)

    Oh dear.

Arshdeep sends down a third bouncer of the innings to White and is called for a no-ball.

The number eleven faces the free hit, slices away to point and wants to take the second to get Delany on strike for the next over.

However the throw from the deep from Siraj is good and Pant whips off the bails as Delany sets off for the second run.

The end of an entertaining innings from Delany, he made 26 from 14 - but he should have had a chance to make a few more.

Some India fans appear to be cheering boundaries from Ireland now. I sense they want to see some of their heroes come out to bat during their innings.

Delany has got to face every ball here if he can. He's batting in a manner that has been completely unheard of on this surface.

What a shot that is! Gareth Delany has given that the treatment.

    Gareth Delany, that is ridiculous.

He heaves Arshdeep away for a mighty six over square, then skews one away past third for four.

    Ireland creeping towards their hundred.

Ravindra Jaedja misses a chance to end the innings!

Gareth Delany gets his bat under a bouncer from Arshdeep, trying to help the ball on its way to the boundary.

It should be taken by the India all-rounder, but he misjudges his run and spills it. And Ireland forgot to run too!

From the previous ball, Delany crashed the ball past mid-on for four.

There have been a couple of deliveries that made us concerned. After Harry Tector's wicket, I thought we were going to see more of those that are bordering on dangerous but as the ball has got softer, we haven't seen it misbehave as much.
