How is Phil Salt not smiling? How is he not laughing? One of the best we have seen this tournament.

    My word.

That is an absolutely fantastic catch by Phil Salt to remove Max Holden.

The Rockets batter drives Josh Tongue in the air - it looks to be going past Salt's dive at mid-off but until the last possible moment, when he plucks the ball out the air.

    Magnificent.

This is turning into a walk in the park for the Rockets.

  4. Rockets 59-2published at 55 balls left

Scott Currie into the attack - the seamer has had an excellent season.

His third ball isn't great though, sitting one up for Max Holden to dispatch through mid-wicket with a pull.

    A first boundary for Holden.

    Spinner takes down spinner!

Noor Ahmad starts with three dot balls to Rehan Ahmed, but the Rockets man comes back at his Originals opponent, sending his last two balls for six and four.

He slog sweeps over mid-wicket and then lofts the ball off the back foot through cover.

50 up for Rockets, while Rehan moves to 29 from 19 balls.

Manchester Originals' Jimmy Anderson on the player mic: "It is not going great at the minute. A couple of wickets here and we're still in this.

"Our guys struggled with the spin and a bit of variable bounce.

"I have loved it. It has been different for me - to get a taste of franchise cricket at such a young age is exciting for me."

But could Rehan be out from the following delivery?

    No!

He spoons the ball up into the air down the ground - Ravindra runs away from the wicket to try and take the catch but can't quite make the ball as it drops.

A great example of how quick Rehan Ahmed is with his feet.

He's quick enough and good enough to hammer it for six.

    Pulled hard... for six!

A big swipe-y shot from Rehan Ahmed sends Rachin Ravindra's delivery over the mid-wicket ropes.

It looks to me that Rehan Ahmed is quick to move his feet. It's a sign of someone who can play spin well.

More spin as Noor Ahmad comes in after the powerplay.

His first set goes for five runs, with Rehan Ahmed picking up two in the covers.

80% of Rehan Ahmed's shots this season have been attacking. Among non-openers, only Ashton Turner has a higher attacking shot% (82%) this season.

A great shot. Rehan Ahmed up on his toes through the covers.

That is why he has been promoted to number three.

  14. Rockets 30-2published at 75 balls left

    69 runs needed

    Consecutive fours for Rehan Ahmed!

He absolutely scorches Josh Tongue through the covers and then uses the pace of the Originals seamer to guide the following delivery over a leaping fielder at short third.

Tongue responds with a slower ball and then a 91mph delivery that Rehan can't hit.

That's the end of the powerplay.

Tom Banton has scored a lot of runs with reverse sweeps, but his returns with the shot have been slightly mixed against left-arm orthodox bowlers.

In T20s/Hundred since 2023, he has attempted the shot 20 times against left-arm finger spinners and been dismissed four times for 47 runs.

He plays it much better against leg-spinners, for example, against whom he has scored 42 runs off 14 balls for just one dismissal in this timeframe.

Max Holden comes in to join Rehan Ahmed - both batters on zero.

The new batter can't get Ravindra away from his first two deliveries.

A lovely adjustment from Manchester Originals to change the bowling to Rachin Ravindra early.

Tom Banton could have slammed this game shut with a quick-fire knock.

    Hitting middle and off.

Banton had taken a reasonable stride down the pitch and was maybe hoping the ball would have turned past his off stump.

    Up goes the umpire's finger!

Spinner Rachin Ravindra strikes Tom Banton's pad as he kneels to reverse sweep.

The opener is going to take a look.

  20. Rockets 21-1published at 85 balls left

Rehan Ahmed comes in at three for Rockets - he's had some excellent batting returns this season.

He ducks under Baker's last delivery.
