100 for Rohitpublished at 25.2 overs

    Ind 186-2

And he seals it with a six!

It was worth the wait to bring up three figures with that shot, whacking Adil Rashid over long-off.

76 balls, nine fours, and seven sixes. Take a bow Rohit Sharma.

  3. Ind 179-2published at 25 overs

India need 126 runs from 25 overs

A good over from Mark Wood, with just three coming from it.

But at the halfway mark in the innings, India are well on course for victory.

  4. Ind 178-2published at 24.5 overs

Rohit Sharma fends off three dot balls from Mark Wood before taking the single.

The Cuttack crowd will have to wait a little longer for any century celebrations.

I agree with Mike (14.34), there is something sadly wrong I this England set up.

  6. Ind 176-2published at 24 overs

    Target 305

Adil Rashid makes Rohit Sharma wait for his century. A wide off the final delivery prolongs the drama but Rohit can't reach the turning ball that follows (and probably should've been a wide in its own right).

    India's captain has 95 off 71.

English cricket is in dire straights from top to bottom.

    Mark

Sorry England but this is pathetic.

Sorry to ruin peoples expectations but India will win with at least 10 overs in hand and why isn't our natural spinner Rehan playing? We have a bowling attack better suited for English conditions.

  10. Ind 166-2published at 22 overs

India need 139 runs from 28 overs

Another eight runs are ticked off India's target.

England have chopped and changed to try and stop Rohit Sharma, nothing has worked on him. England are chasing their tail slightly here with him. His strike is so elegant and he's played beautifully. It's great to watch, unless you're an England bowler.

  12. Ind 163-2published at 21.3 overs

That's probably his least elegant shot of the day but Rohit Sharma can do no wrong. The outfield is fast and he sweeps Adil Rashid for four.

  13. Ind 158-2published at 21 overs

    Target 305

I was just about to start writing about the improvement in England's bowling in the past couple of overs, but then Jamie Overton returned to the short ball and Shreyas Iyer hit it for four. A gift.

  14. Ind 151-2published at 20 overs

    Target 305

A big over and a big wicket from Adil Rashid.

The only problem for England is Rohit Sharma is still batting.

That is the 10th time Adil Rashid has dismissed Virat Kohli in international cricket. Only Tim Southee and Josh Hazlewood have dismissed Kohli on more occasions (11 times each).

  16. wicket

    Kohli c Salt b Rashid 5 (Ind 150-2)

Virat Kohli looks unamused but he has to go.

It's Adil Rashid with the important wicket. Kohli has edged behind to Salt.

  17. England reviewpublished at 19.3 overs

Jos Buttler wants another look at this.

What are they looking for? Caught behind or stumping? Either way, Phil Salt was very keen behind the stumps.

  18. Ind 150-1published at 19.1 overs

Rohit Sharma had to be quick there! He avoids the run out, takes a tumble, and brings up India's 150.

    Matt Prior
    Ex-England wicketkeeper on TNT Sports

From early on, Rohit Sharma looked like he was hitting the middle of the bat every time. Those three sixes really set the tone for what we've seen here. England were bowling short and he's punished every mistake.

Why do we keep bowling short to Rohit, when he is literally known for being very good at playing the short ball?
