This is the kind of bowling that Jason Roy does not enjoy facing. Spin pace-off.

He needs to tell himself not to swing at it.

  2. Brave 80-1published at 35 balls

    Need 27 runs to win

Somewhat against type, Jason Roy has also adopted the patient approach.

He exchanges five singles with Leus du Plooy (35 off 31) as Benny Howell finishes with figures of 1-17.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at Rockets v Superchargers

    Litchfield b McCarthy 22 (Superchargers 95-2)

Short but sweet from Phoebe Litchfield.

The Australia left-hander was in for 10 balls and hit five boundaries before falling to Cassidy McCarthy.

Litchfield backed away trying to hit over the off stump but misses and the ball makes a mess of the stumps.

Annabel Sutherland comes in with Superchargers needing just 34 from 40 balls.

  4. Brave 75-1published at 40 balls

    Need 32 runs to win

Benny Howell has been the pick of Birmingham Phoenix's bowlers. He has 1-12 from his 15 balls.

I bet they wish he could bowl all of the next 40 deliveries.

James Vince is reluctant to go. He wanted to see his team across the line.

He can't believe he has nicked it. He gave himself a little bit too much room and it was straight to the wicketkeeper.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42 balls

    Vince c Clarke b Howell 41 (Brave 75-0)

Birmingham Phoenix finally have a breakthrough, but it's almost certainly too little, too late.

James Vince got a little tickle on it and Joe Clarke took it safely in two hands. He throws his bat up in the air in frustration.

Not to worry - his side only need 32 runs off 43 deliveries and Jason Roy is walking out to bat.

  7. Brave 70-0published at 45 balls

    Need 37 runs to win

Another expensive set. 10 from it. This could be over quite quickly.

Welcome back into the attack Liam Livingstone. A lovely shot lofted over into the stands. One shot makes such a difference to the game.

That was the first six of the match which shows how difficult this pitch is.

  9. 6 runs

    Brave 66-0published at 49 balls

    Need 41 runs to win

Leus du Plooy lifts a leg and pounds Liam Livingstone between mid-off and cover for the first six of the innings, and indeed the first six of the match.

  10. Brave 60-0published at 50 balls

    Need 47 runs to win

A productive set for Southern Brave with Trent Boult conceding 11 runs.

The required rate is under a run a ball.

James Vince couldn't resist that. He opened his chest up and swatted the ball nicely with power between the fielders.

A response needed from Trent Boult.

  12. Brave 58-0published at 52 balls

    Target 107

And another four for James Vince, driving wide of square.

  13. Brave 54-0published at 53 balls

    Target 107

Great Scott! A boundary. The first since the final ball of the powerplay. FOUR.

That was a drop. Dan Mousley was running in and wasn't still when he went to take the catch. It was a simple chance really.

An opportunity missed for Birmingham Phoenix to start a possible collapse for the Brave. You can't give lives like that.

  15. 50 runs

50 for Davina Perrinpublished at Rockets v Superchargers

Superchargers need 62 from 50 balls

Davina Perrin wallops the ball back down the ground for her eighth boundary to take her to a half-century from 28 balls.

The teenager has looked the part for Northern Superchargers today and has the visitors on course for victory at the halfway stage of the chase.

    Oh dear.

Dan Mousley, running in at fine leg, drops a very simple chance to dismiss James Vince. It was about hip height and a regulation catch.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at Rockets v Superchargers

    Davidson-Richards c Sciver-Brunt b Graham 11 (Superchargers 62-1)

Breakthrough for Trent Rockets - and it's a brilliant catch from Nat Sciver-Brunt.

Alice Davidson-Richards has struggled to get going in this chase and tries to hit her way out of a rut.

She whips the ball from Heather Graham towards deep mid-wicket but Sciver-Brunt comes sprinting in off the rope and dives forward to take a fantastic low grab.

Superchargers still in control, though, with Davina Perrin unbeaten on 47 and just 67 more needed.

Birmingham Phoenix need to get their heads together and build some pressure. Scoreboard pressure is not really a thing so the opportunity to take wickets is small. Southern Brave don't need to take risks.

The crowd would like some more boundaries but Southern Brave are going about it the sensible way.

28-0 is the lowest powerplay total scored by Southern Brave without losing a wicket. It’s also their third-lowest powerplay score while chasing, overall.

Brave are approaching this chase very cautiously.

Single, dot, single, dot, single. How pleasing.

It's a tight set from Benny Howell but Birmingham Phoenix haven't looked like taking a wicket.

It's not been exhilarating batting from Southern Brave but chasing 107, they don't need to do anything fancy.

The teams have taken a strategic time-out.
