Zak Crawley looks to be enjoying himself now, grinning away after swiping a pull shot. Once again he has timed that perfectly and there's no chance for the fielders. I think he's surprised himself with how quickly he has sent that flying away.

Six minutes remain in the day.

Zak Crawley loves batting in Pakistan, doesn't he? He's been imposing and he's got a very good fifty here.

And there is Zak Crawley's fifty. He has placed and timed that perfectly - a quick flick of the wrists sending the ball to the boundary.

He has got there in just 55 balls.

    Crawley 49, Root 30

A single takes Zak Crawley to the brink of a 20th Test score of 50 or more. He loves batting against Pakistan. He averaged 74 against them before this knock.

Would you beat a Zak Crawley-Ben Duckett partnership? We should set it up.

Four singles come from Naseem's comeback over and now Shaheen Afridi is going to return too. Shan Masood has saved his premier quicks for a short spell under the floodlights.

I once took part in a world record attempt at Twickenham stadium for the world’s largest three legged race. We finished last - I quickly discovered my two year old son and I weren’t an ideal pair…

Naseem Shah is back for a burst late in the day. England need to see this spell off. Things certainly looked easier against Jamal and Abrar.

Zak Crawley knows the inside/outside edge isn't a threat from Abrar Ahmed at the moment, so he hit it back down the ground.

There's something in Abrar's bowling action that looks like he's changed it.

My wife is a keen rounders player. I told her cricket is like rounders but better. It didn't go down well.

Zak Crawley times two more deliveries from Abrar Ahmed beautifully, collecting a boundary on both occasions. Crawley is batting like he hasn't been away.

I think I can trump the others. I'm a current World Record holder... part of the "most participants in a game of rounders" 148 players at Cox Green School, Maidenhead.

Joe Root plays the most Joe Rooty of shots by playing Aamer Jamal late to guide the ball through a big gap between slip and gully.

There's no-one down there so that's four more to the total. He needs 71 in this innings to overtake Alastair Cook's record run-tally.

This Test match is nicely balanced and there's still a lot of life in it. Let's see how Pakistan operate in the last innings, because their track record on day four and five with the bat has not been great.

The latest news from the England camp is that it's unlikely Ben Duckett will bat this evening. We will know more tomorrow but hopefully it will settle down overnight and he's not going for a scan. So, it sounds like a dislocation that has been put back.

  15. Eng 56-1published at 13 overs

That sounds like a text Joey Tribbiani would send...

You may remember Abrar took seven wickets on debut the last time England toured. He's one of those leggies that tries to flick the balls this way and that rather than giving it a huge rip.

    Root adds a leisurely three.

Don't doubt yourself. Karl. I'd take a countdown champion over a welly wanger.

A misfield allows Joe Root to add a bonus couple, edging closer to Sir Alastair Cook in the process, as the light begins to fade.

Those stats are enough to spend a shiver down English spines but in this over Abrar drops too short and Crawley heaves him away for four. It wasn't the prettiest of Crawley strokes. He just stood there and whacked it.
