  1. Eng 12-0published at 3.4 overs

Much better from Danni Wyatt-Hodge and Maia Bouchier as they farm the strike a little more effectively off the next three balls of Ayabonga Khaka's over.

Meanwhile, the umpires have spotted something wrong with the stumps, I think.

  2. Bouchier survivespublished at 3.1 overs

Maia Bouchier got her bat down and is home.

That was a good piece of fielding.

I'd like to think that she was in because she stepped off the breaks as she got closer.

  5. Umpire reviewpublished at 3.1 overs

A quick single from Danni Wyatt-Hodge off Ayabonga Khaka leaves Maia Bouchier struggling to make her ground at the striker's end.

Anneke Bosch with a decent throw at the stumps.

That was the shot, the use of the feet has broken the shackles.

It took 12 balls for England to realise that that's the method.

  7. Eng 8-0published at 3 overs

    Bosh from the Bouch!

Maia Bouchier responds to being beaten by a beauty from Marizanne Kapp by dancing down the pitch and whacking the South Africa all-rounder back over her head for four.

Bouchier got the full meat of the bat on that.

This is my point exactly, you cannot stand there and let somebody bowl at you, line and length.

You've got to take it to them, ramp it or hit it out for six but it gets to a point where standing there puts you behind.

  9. Eng 4-0published at 2.4 overs

Maia Bouchier's expression shows she is feeling the pressure at being unable to beat the in-field, despite some decent-looking drivers, at the moment. She is two runs off 13 balls.

    Bowlers in the first innings...

    • Hitting the Stumps - 47 runs, 50 balls, 5 wickets - 5.64 economy
    • Not Hitting - 77 runs, 70 balls, 0 wickets - 6.60 economy
  11. Eng 3-0published at 2 overs

A decent amount of late inswing from Ayabonga Khaka and Maia Bouchier twice keeps it out before showing some intent by walking down the pitch and swinging.

It helps Bouchier get off the mark from her 10th delivery albeit with a streaky inside edge for a couple.

  12. Eng 1-0published at 1.2 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge, who looks relaxed, confidently nudges Ayabonga Khaka into the leg side to get England off the mark.

In the eight games so far, the side that has scored more runs inside the powerplay has gone on to win seven of them (India vs Pakistan the only outlier).

  14. Eng 0-0published at 1 over

Maia Bouchier skips down the pitch to the penultimate delivery of Marizanne Kapp's opening over. The ball hoops away from the England opener, who plays and misses.

Bouchier connects with the final ball of the over but drills it to point.

A maiden to start from Kapp

A maiden wouldn't be a tragedy here, keeping Marizanne Kapp quiet is more important.

  16. Eng 0-0published at 0.2 overs

Maia Bouchier gets a lucky escape after the a delivery nips back in from Marizanne Kapp and she inside edges it into her pad.

Kapp gives Bouchier a knowing smile.

Possible all these dropped catches are because of the heat meaning sweaty hands? You can see the sheen on everyone's skin so seems daft not to think it's an issue.
