The ball didn't get up that much. Bennett has gone for the review but it looked pretty straight.

  2. Zimbabwe reviewpublished at 3.1 overs

Brian Bennett is given out lbw. Given his first-innings knock, it's worth the review.

The follow-on was the right decision. The batters would gain little from another thrash about but the bowlers should benefit from 120-130 overs without an innings break. This isn't a competitive match but still needs winning and as soon as possible.

  4. Zim 3-0published at 3 overs

It feels crucial for Zimbabwe to head into day three with this opening partnership in tact.

That attempted single from Ben Curran, therefore, was the kind of momentary head-loss which they cannot afford.

  5. Zim 2-0published at 2 overs

Ben Curran will be keen to get a score after missing out in the first innings. He plays out a maiden from Gus Atkinson.

It will be interesting what England do with Sam Cook.

Chris Woakes is back playing. You'd think he'd be straight back into the side for the first Test against India.

Cook may miss out there but over a five-Test series rotation will be required.

What have you made of Sam Cook's Test debut? Does he make your squad to face India later this summer? Do get in touch to let us know.

  8. Zim 2-0 (f/o)published at 1 over

It's a quieter start from Brian Bennett and co. He took Sam Cook's opening over for 12 in the first innings. This time, there's just a leg bye and a single for Ben Curran.

Ben Stokes has had the team in the huddle. I don't know what he said but they were all laughing.

England have a chance to get three or four tonight.

Joe Root will hope he is watching Sheffield United in the play-off final at 3pm tomorrow. I wonder if that's what the team talk was.

Here come Brian Bennett and Ben Curran. Zimbabwe trail by 300 runs.

Sam Cook will open the bowling once again.

In terms of hitting a good length and drawing a false shot from the batters, Sam Cook was England’s ‘best’ specialist bowler on debut.

Of the three out and out quicks, he hit a good length most often (55%) and drew more false shots (27%).

Spare a thought for Brian Bennett. He hasn't had much time to recover from his impressive century.

We can confirm, England HAVE enforced the follow-on.

Would it be disrespectful to bat again and open with Smith and Stokes for some time in the middle?

He's rattled them! Great delivery from Gus Atkinson.

No one knows what's happening out there now.

    Atkinson bowls Muzarabani

Off stump rocks back and Blessing Muzarabani is out for 12.

That's the end of Zimbabwe's innings as the injured Richard Ngarava is not coming out to bat.

But will England enforce the follow-on?

Former England captain on BBC Test Match Special

England have had times today where they've been pretty good, but there's also been times where they haven't.

  18. Zim 265-8published at 63 overs

Shoaib Bashir could have had a couple of wickets in that over.

After the missed caught and bowled, he bowls one to Victor Nyauchi which whistles past the stumps. Very close indeed.

  19. Zim 262-8published at 62.1 overs

Was that a chance for Shoaib Bashir?

Blessing Muzarabani strikes the ball back towards the bowler but it goes quick and low through his legs and away to the boundary. Maybe his earlier finger injury was playing on his mind.

  20. Zim 258-8published at 62 overs

It feels unlikely that Richard Ngarava, who left the field yesterday with a back injury, will come out to bat, so this could be Zimbabwe's final pair.
