A clinical performance from England with bat, ball and in the field at the Hagley Oval.

My colleague Matthew Henry was certainly impressed. You can read his match report here...

  2. 'Rashid and Dawson did their thing'published at 10:55 BST 20 October

More from England captain Harry Brook: "It was exactly what we talked about with the ball. So to get another 10 wickets is awesome. It's something we have talked about in my time as captain.

"Adil Rashid and Liam Dawson are extremely experienced spinners and it's warming to just say 'you go do your things'. The odds weren't in Liam Dawson's favour with the wind and he was phenomenal.

On England's fielders being in from the boundary: "There's a lot of balls which get plinked into the outfield and there was a few today if the fielders were on the rope it wouldn't have carried."

  3. 'England were smart'published at 10:49 BST 20 October

New Zealand skipper Mitchell Santner: "It was a bit flatter than the other night. England were smart with the way they played - hit to short side and got twos to the big side.

"When you get a 100-run partnership in a T20, it's hard to stop. We threw different options at them but they were able to keep going.

"You need a lot of things to go well [to chase that total]. They were smart with the wind. We holed out a lot hitting to the larger side."

  4. 'Nice to hit a few out the park'published at 10:43 BST 20 October

Player of the match Harry Brook, who made 78 off 35 balls: "It felt good out there. It's always nice to contribute and to do it alongside Phil Salt in this new era is nice. We kept each other clam and composed, manipulated the field and keep them under as much pressure as possible.

"The other night the pitch had more grass on it but the sun helped us today and made it a bit flatter. Tonight it was nice to get some runs and hit a few out of the park."

Some truth in that about Adil Rashid and Test cricket, but spin bowling in Test cricket and white-ball cricket can be very different beasts.

It's such a shame Adil Rashid chooses not to play Test cricket anymore, he's the best English spinner of his generation by far, imagine what could've been!

Adil Rashid the pick of the attack for England with 4-32.

Two wickets apiece for Luke Wood, Brydon Carse and Liam Dawson.

    Impressive stuff.

  8. champagne moment

ENGLAND WIN BY 65 RUNSpublished at 10:32 BST 20 October

An emphatic victory. England excelled in all three departments.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18 overs

Duffy c Brook b Wood 1 (NZ 171 all out)

A duff shot from Jacob Duffy.

The New Zealand number 11 cloths Luke Wood into the hands of England captain Harry Brook at mid-off.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.3 overs

    Henry c Bethell b Wood 0 (NZ 169-)

Luke Wood returns to the attack and gets a wicket with his third ball as Matthew Henry departs for a first-ball duck via a fine catch from Jacob Bethell, held at throat height, down at deep mid-wicket.

Pace on has not fared well on this track tonight. Across both innings, seam deliveries clocking over 75mph have been struck at 185, deliveries below the 75mph mark have conceded a strike rate of 144.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17 overs

    Santner c Curran b Rashid 36 (NZ 164-8)

Good question, and timing, T, as Adil Rashid picks up his fourth wicket.

Mitchell Santner's fun and games are brought to an end after he swipes the England leg-spinner's wrong 'un across the line and into the hands of Sam Curran at deep square.

Santner slumps down on to his haunches. That should be curtains for the Kiwis.

What are England going to do when Adil Rashid retires? One of the best bowlers in the world currently.

    Neesham c Banton b Rashid 17 (NZ 161-7)

Adil Rashid raises his index finger in celebration.

Jimmy Neesham perishes in predictable fashion, smashing the England spinner high into the night sky before the ball drops into the hands of Tom Banton at long-on.

England's catching has been pretty much flawless today.

  15. NZ 158-6published at 16 overs

Fluent stuff from the bespectacled Mitchell Santner who has 35 off 13 balls.

A lovely pick up to the penultimate ball of Sam Curran's over and he uses his wrists to gracefully flick it for four through mid-wicket.

  16. 6 runs

    NZ 151-6published at 15.2 overs

Mitchell Santner giving the crowd something to cheer about.

He goes inside out to a slower delivery from Sam Curran and uses his levers to time the proverbial out of it wide of long-off.

Tom Banton sticks a hand out on the boundary but cannot stop it going over the ropes for six.

  17. NZ 144-6published at 15 overs

Brydon Carse back into the attack and Jimmy Neesham whips him into the leg side for four.

A top edge from Neesham after he is done for pace by Carse slices into the night sky behind point, but there's not a fielder in range.

Can someone tell Russ from Maidenhead to be quiet.

    Tom in Worthing

Oh Russ in Maidenhead, what have you done.

    Chris in Skipton

Re Russ in Maidenhead. Cue a messy World Cup and a defeat at the hands of a minor country!

  19. NZ 135-6published at 14 overs

Five wides from Liam Dawson to boot. 23 runs off his final over ruin his figures.

England still in the box seat here, though.

  20. 6 runs

    NZ 1286published at 13.5 overs

A couple of blots on Liam Dawson's copybook.

Mitchell Santner uses his levers to good effect to twice deposit the left-arm spinner on to the grass banks straight down the ground. The first sails over long on, and the second over long off.
