  1. Eng 234-5published at 19.5 overs

    Two more. Good running.

  2. Eng 232-4published at 19.4 overs

What are you supposed to do as a bowler?

Banton backs away, Duffy follows him well but the England batter just guides a cut shot between short third and backward point.

  3. Eng 228-4published at 19.3 overs

This has been a good start from Duffy, however. Banton fails to time this cutter into the middle of the pitch.

  4. Not outpublished at 08:53 BST

The impact on Tom Banton's pad was outside leg stump and it was only going one way from there.

  5. New Zealand reviewpublished at 19.2 overs

Duffy is appealing for lbw after a leg-stump yorker. It has to be missing leg but will allow him a breather.

  6. Eng 224-4published at 19.1 overs

Sam Curran nails a drive but gets only a single.

  7. Postpublished at 08:51 BST

Jacob Duffy will bowl the last. Expect plenty of slower balls.

  8. Eng 223-4published at 19 overs

    Curran 7, Banton 19

Ahhh this might be the best shot of the lot. It's a shorter ball from Matt Henry and Banton just flat-bats it for four baseball-style back over his head.

You can't treat a Matt Henry like that. We stick together.

  9. Eng 215-4published at 18.5 overs

A slicy edge again. Four more.

The wickets have not stopped England's momentum.

  10. 6 runs

    Eng 215-4published at 18.3 overs

The previous one was edged but this is right out of the middle. Tom Banton pulls Matt Henry over mid-wicket.

  11. How's stat?!published at 08:48 BST

This is now the highest-ever total in T20 internationals at the Hagley Oval. October seems to be a good month to bat in Christchurch.

    • New Zealand 184-5 v Australia - February 2021

    • Bangladesh 173-6 v Pakistan - October 2022

You look at a game like this, and you think that England, while setting an imposing total, are still kind of going along in third or fourth gear. I think they have another level they can get to more with consistency. Records will tumble when/if they do.

  14. 6 runs

    Eng 205-4published at 18 overs

England are going to keep on hitting and that's the right tactic with wickets in hand. Sam Curran almost falls in exactly the same way as Phil Salt but he's got just enough on it to clear the diving fielder in front of the sight screen.

For all money that looked like it was going to six. Great hands from Michael Bracewell.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.4 overs

    Salt c Bracewell b Jamieson 85 (Eng 198-4)

Phil Salt follows Harry Brook two balls later.

It's a superb catch from Michael Bracewell right on the long-off boundary. He's got to taken a high catch and also keep his bearings with the boundary sponge below him but does it perfectly.

It's funny what happens when you take your catches.

  17. Postpublished at 08:42 BST

England send in Sam Curran a little early, probably so they have a right-handed and left-handed batter at the crease.

  18. Postpublished at 08:42 BST

    Neil Wagner
Former New Zealand bowler on TNT Sports

Harry Brook has hit the ball to all corners of the Hagley Oval during an entertaining innings but he's undone by the slower ball from Kyle Jamieson.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.2 overs

    Brook c Robinson b Jamiesn 78 (Eng 197-3)

There will be no century for Harry Brook. He has drilled a slower ball from Kyle Jamieson to deep mid-wicket and has to walk off with 78 from 35 balls.

A fine knock. One of his very best as captain.
