I had tickets for the game at Taunton today, but decided it wasn’t worth coming up with the forecast. Currently down in Torquay where it’s torrential rain at the moment. Usually the weather hits Taunton an hour later so I can’t see play resuming now.

  4. Pitch inspection at 15:40published at 15:23 British Summer Time 7 June

We've had the outcome of the pitch inspection... and it's they're going to have another look in 20 minutes.

Perhaps in that time a tropical heat front will roar up the Severn Estuary and into mid-Somerset, who knows.

Glad to have doubled the amount of overs we've seen from last year, but sad to have to go home very soggy and cold.

The umpires are out there with their umbrellas up. That's not a great sign.

The irony. I finished working outside as it's too hot now! Shower, beer, and sat down to check in on the cricket.

The captains have just been in conference with umpire Sue Redfearn.

A chance we'll get a decision on this game?

Meanwhile the super-sopper is out on the outfield, doing the best it can.

We've been consulting a rain radar and it really isn't looking good for this match.

Almost the entirety of Cornwall, Devon and Somerset is obscured under a mass of blue.

There is no umbrellas because there's now no people [in the crowd].

Andrew: As Ned Flanders would say cricket down there is 'done diddly done diddly diddly done for'. It's about to rain cats and dogs at Cow Corner.
