    Lovely start by England.

It is really hard after these rain delays to switch back on quickly. Sarah Glenn getting her first ODI start so it's nice for her to pick up a wicket.

    Bowled her!

Absolute peach of a delivery from Sarah Glenn to dismiss Shabika Gajnabi, who falls to the top-spinner.

That's the start England were after, but it's always really difficult for the batting side having to start again once they've got into the rhythm.

  7. WI 45-4published at 13 overs

    Joseph 22, Gajnabi 1

Charlie Dean has forced West Indies onto the defensive right away.

Shabika Gajnabi is the new batter in.

Sarah Glenn is into the attack for the first time today.

West Indies had very little choice to get after England as quick as possible.

Amy Jones is never going to miss out on that one behind the stumps.

    A perfect restart from England.

Shemaine Campbelle walks back, stumped by Amy Jones, after going after Charlie Dean's first delivery after resumption of play.

Kate Cross (1-15) and Em Arlott (2-15) have already bowled their allocated overs for England.

But captain Nat Sciver-Brunt can call upon the likes of Lauren Filer, Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean.

Up first will be Dean, who will pick up from she left off before rain and resume her second over.

Unbelievable that this game will go ahead, after all the rain we have sat through. We are now home in South Devon watching the restart on TV.

If we do get going in 10 minutes' time, West Indies, who are 43-3, will have another 8.3 overs to bat.

Shemaine Campbelle, 18 from 34 balls, and Qiana Joseph, on 21, will return to the middle.

Here's Campbelle hitting Em Arlott for back-to-back boundaries, in what feel likes ages ago. The tourists will need a lot more of that when we resume.

The covers have come off in Taunton and the England players are back in the middle.

We are 15 minutes away from resumption, after almost five hours of waiting.

    Time to get excited again?

I had a ticket for today’s game but as I live in Penzance thought it was wise to check the weather. So glad I gave it a miss. 5 hour return journey. If play continues I can watch on TV ☹️

The outfield might be a bit damp but waiting until 17:00 is daft... Get on with the game.

  17. Playing conditionspublished at 15:57 British Summer Time 7 June

If play does start at 17:00 BST, these will be the playing conditions:

    • 21 overs per side
    • One bowler can bowl a maximum of five overs and four others four overs
    • Powerplay is four overs
    • There will be a 10-minute interval, with England's chase due to start at 17:34
  18. Play to resume at 17:00 BSTpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 7 June

Right, well, me (and indeed ye, I bet) of little faith.

The players are going to come back out at 17:00 BST, with the major caveat being "if there's no more rain".

The rain radar doesn't look great on that front.

We went off for the rain just before midday, by the way, so that's a five-hour delay if they get going at 17:00.

Anyway, here's Adwaidh Rajan to hopefully guide you back towards a resumption.

It's a real shame that this is the only match down in the SW and it's rained off. We're in Plymouth and make the trip up when we can. Please can we have more women's matches at Taunton.... oh and a Hundred team too!
