    So good from Rabada.

The wicket and just four from his eighth over as South Africa continue to squeeze.

I think New Zealand will do well to get to 350 now. The momentum has been lost.

This is a critical period. There's no guarantee that they can create that mayhem. Glenn Phillips can do it but he has to get in.

If South Africa can get it down to the early 300s, they will take that.

    Latham b Rabada 4 (NZ 257-4)

A brief stay at the crease for Tom Latham.

He attempts to scoop Kagiso Rabada but it's smart bowling, firing the ball in fuller and taking out middle stump.

Here comes Glenn Phillips. This could be fun.

Daryl Mitchell hasn't quite found his timing yet. He's a mighty hitter of the ball once he gets going.

  5. NZ 257-3published at 41 overs

South Africa also probably won't enjoy being reminded that Glenn Phillips is in next, and he has a pretty decent platform to work with, too.

  6. NZ 254-3published at 40.2 overs

    Cheers, Sam.

Brilliant knock from Kane Williamson - though I'm sure South Africa won't enjoy being reminded of this dropped chance on 56...

  7. NZ 252-3published at 40 overs

Risky single to end the over but Tom Latham is off the mark.

The throw from mid-off misses the stumps but it looks like Latham was safely home in any case.

New Zealand will want a big finish and to see just how many more they can get in the last 10 overs, I'll hand you over to Ffion Wynne.

This time Kane Williamson didn't get it right and fair play to Wiaan Mulder, he's bowled that very well.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 39.5 overs

    Williamson c Ngidi b Mulder 102 (NZ 251-3)

Ramped... but straight into the hands of short fine leg.

Very well bowled by Wiaan Mulder, hitting the yorker length perfectly wide of off stump.

Kane Williamson is across his stump and tries to ramp but can't get the timing or elevation he wants and the ball loops gently to Lungi Ngidi.

Another marvellous knock from the Black Caps legend though.

In any Kane Williamson innings, if you showed any youngster, there's a lot to learn.

He tries to figure out the pitch from the start and rather than hurriedly, under the pressure of not starting quickly, go for ones and twos. He bides his time.

    Breaking

    NZ 249-2

Scooped over the wicketkeeper's head for four and Kane Williamson has his 15th ODI century!

Superbly played by the firmer Black Caps skipper. He gets to three figures from 91 balls.

It's been a brilliantly paced innings, starting relatively slowly as he got used to the surface before really kicking on after passing 50.

Keshav Maharaj is done with 0-65 and I think it's a top effort on this surface.

  13. NZ 245-2published at 39 overs

Good over to finish from Keshav Maharaj, just two from it.

The South Africa spinner ends with figures of 0-65 from his 10 overs.

  14. NZ 243-2published at 38 overs

It's a measure of how good Kane Williamson is that this can be seen as a not particularly fluent knock when he is currently unbeaten on 96 from 87 balls.

He adds his ninth four of this innings by backing away and angling a slower ball from Wiaan Mulder over backward point for four.

Kane Williamson has played really well today. It's been a hard graft for him today, not as fluent as normal, but he's stuck at it.

  16. NZ 234-2published at 37 overs

    Williamson 89, Mitchell 13

Kane Williamson ensures New Zealand avoid another boundary-free with a well-struck slog-sweep over mid-wicket for four.

Keshav Maharaj had done well to keep the Black Caps pair quiet until that point but still ends up conceding 10 from the over.

Daryl Mitchell, with the way he's trying to go, he's trying to play more freely to keep the momentum going.

  18. NZ 224-2published at 36 overs

No boundaries but after a couple of quieter overs, New Zealand are back on the move.

Daryl Mitchell pulls the first ball high over mid-wicket but it's not out of the middle of the bat and stops short of the rope.

Just two for the burly right-hander, one of three twos in the Kagiso Rabada over, with eight coming from it in total.

South Africa desperately needed a wicket and if they had to pick one of the batters it would've been Rachin Ravindra.

They need Kane Williamson to get stuck like he did at the beginning of the innings for damage control because it's looking ominous from here.

  20. NZ 216-2published at 35 overs

Much needed respite for South Africa following the wicket of Rachin Ravindra.

Just three singles from Keshav Maharaj's over. They need a few more like that if they're to stop New Zealand getting up to 350 or so.
