When you bat first, there isn't the pressure of the board. There's only the pressure of the conditions. You've got time to be cautious and get used to them.

Runs on the board in a semi-final does count for a lot.

  4. SA 8-0published at 1 over

    Target 363

    Lovely.

That is much more convincing from Rickelton, effortlessly pushing the ball past the bowler and down the ground for four.

  5. SA 4-0published at 0.2 overs

Ryan Rickelton safely defends the first ball from Matt Henry, before getting a slice of luck from the second with an inside edge past his stumps for four.

It's not convincing, but South Africa are under way.

Right then, South Africa's chase will begin shortly.

New Zealand's players look pretty happy and relaxed as they gather in a huddle on the boundary edge. WinViz has them comfortably ahead at the halfway mark.

This total is better than par, but it's a semi-final - we could have a cracking game if South Africa play well.

  9. 'Hopefully our spinners can get a bit of turn' - Ravindrapublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March

New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra: "[The key to our innings] was the partnerships. Being able to bat with [Will] Young and Kane [Williamson] helped me upfront. Kane's intent was brilliant throughout. I enjoy batting with Kane because we have good communication in terms of what we need to do. He's a great person to watch from the other end.

"They bowled great lengths at times and made it tough to get off strike. Hopefully, the wicket holds more as the game progresses.

"[South Africa bowled] a lot of cutters. Ngidi's got a great off-cutter. It looks a bit crumbly so hopefully our spinners can get a bit of turn."

    It must be close.

New Zealand's 362 was set up by two glorious centuries from the prodigy Rachin Ravindra and the masterful Kane Williamson.

Opener Ravindra made 108 from 101 balls, and Williamson was out for 102 from 94.

They paced their knocks perfectly to set the perfect platform for Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips to cash in at the end.

That is not far off what England scored here and Australia overcame it, so South Africa have a chance.

  15. NZ 362-6published at 50 overs

Glenn Phillips remains unbeaten on 49 from 27 balls as he somehow sprints two from the last ball of the innings, which Mitchell Santner had plinked up to long-on.

Great innings from New Zealand, and South Africa need 363 for a place in the Champions Trophy final.
