Edged and not taken by the keeper. Kane Williamson throws everything at that and they've dropped Williamson.

Some days they stick, that one did not.

  2. dropped catch

    NZ 175-1

How costly might that prove for South Africa?!

After a few overs of spin from both ends and New Zealand starting to up the tempo, Temba Bavuma decides it's time to go back to pace and the change so nearly works.

Lungi Ngidi ends his over with a well-disguised slower ball that Kane Williamson goes after on the drive and gets a healthy nick.

Heinrich Klaasen dives to his right, get a glove on it but can't hold on. Not easy but one the wicketkeeper would expect to take.

Ngidi certainly expected it to be taken. He ends up on his knees with his head in his hands.

If New Zealand are 240 with 10 overs to go, with the power in the batting line-up, I think they can get to 360.

Kane Williamson was rather fortunate to get away with that. It's another half-century in one-day cricket.

    NZ 169-1

Another miscue from Kane Williamson but again the ball lands safely as Temba Bavuma comes running in from deep mid-wicket but can't get to it in time.

That allows Williamson to get back for two and reach his 48th ODI fifty, from 61 balls.

That is followed up by a fine reverse sweep for four as 10 come from Aiden Markram's over.

  6. 6 runs

    NZ 159-1published at 27 overs

Kane Williamson has seen his batting partner try to up the ante and decides he fancies doing the same.

This looks like little more than a chip over mid-wicket from the Kiwi right-hander but he's hitting with the wind and the ball carries all the way for six.

Rachin Ravindra has played brilliantly but he's got a big slice of luck here.

He charges Keshav Maharaj again but this time is beaten in the flight and is fortunate to get an outside edge just thick enough that there is no chance of a catch for Heinrich Klaasen behind the stumps.

Would have been a simple chance for a first slip but instead it's four. That brings up the 100 partnership.

    Williamson 40, Ravindra 83

Superb work from Rassie van der Dussen in the deep to deny Rachin Ravindra a boundary.

It should just be two but an overthrow allows New Zealand to steal a third. A bit sloppy from South Africa.

  9. NZ 143-1published at 25 overs

A pair of singles end the over but it's an expensive one from Keshav Maharaj - 13 from it.

Halfway through the innings and New Zealand have built themselves a fantastic base from which to kick on.

Rachin Ravindra is so confident and just backs himself.

Rachin Ravindra has had enough of pushing the ones and twos and comes after Keshav Maharaj.

After hitting the left-arm spinner back over his head for four, he skips down the track again next ball and heaves this one over long-on for six!

Not the cleanest strike but more than good enough to sail comfortably over the head of the fielder on the boundary.

Best shots from Rachin Ravindra's half-century

Rachin Ravindra has an excellent record in ICC ODI tournaments.

In 13 innings he's scored 764 runs at an very healthy average of 69.5 with seven fifty-plus scores (fours hundreds and three fifties).

Of the 361 players with 10 or more innings in the ICC Cricket World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy, only Lance Klusener (78.0) & Andrew Symonds (76.7) average better than Ravindra.

Highest Average in ICC ODI Tournaments (Min. 10 innings): Lance Klusener - 78.0, Andrew Symonds - 76.7 Rachin Ravindra - 69.5, Shikhar Dhawan - 65.2, Virat Kohli - 65.2.

  13. NZ 130-1published at 24 overs

More spin for South Africa. Aiden Markram, who was passed for for this semi-final, after a hamstring niggle is on to bowl his off-spin.

He's not one to give the ball too much air and keeps it pretty much stump to stump in his first over, three singles come from it.

Kane Williamson, for me, has looked to open up that offside, he's really looking for that extra cover region.

Rachin Ravindra has been tidy, he's been really good throughout the tournament.

  15. NZ 127-1published at 23 overs

A rare miscue from Kane Williamson begins the Keshav Maharaj over but the leading edge lands safely after looping into the leg-side.

Five from the over with Rachin Ravindra playing and missing at the last delivery.

  16. NZ 122-1published at 22 overs

Marco Jansen continues, bowling round the wicket to the right-handed Kane Williamson.

The big left-arm seamer is worked for five singles from the over as the partnership for New Zealand's second wicket extends to 74. All with a minimum of fuss.

It's looking good for the Black Caps but with more than three-quarters of the match remaining, South Africa have plenty of time to prove WinViz wrong.

    Lovely shot from Rachin Ravindra.

Tossed up by Keshav Maharaj and the New Zealand left-hander drills the ball between extra cover and mid-off for four.

    Thanks, Elizabeth.

New Zealand are going along very nicely under clear blue skies in Lahore. Rachin Ravindra is scoring at more than a run a ball, while Kane Williamson is ticking over a little more slowly.

The run-rate is nothing that will worry South Africa too much but, with wickets in hand, the Black Caps will be eyeing a big finish.

  20. NZ 113-1published at 20 overs

The bowling change doesn't bring the wicket that South Africa are searching for but it's a good over from Marco Jansen, with just two singles from it.

Here's Sam Drury to guide you through the next 20 overs.
