I think we're in danger of some overtime and England might have to bring a fielder into the inside if that's the case.

Jacob Bethell will bowl the 44th with his left-arm spin...

  3. WI 255-6published at 43 overs

Matthew Potts ends the over with another well-aimed yorker. That's good stuff from him because he's not especially known for those deliveries.

Keep an eye on Harry Brook here too. England's new skipper is fielding in an unusual straight mid-on position.

  4. WI 254-4published at 42.4 overs

Potts nails a yorker but the ball races between his legs and away for four off the inside edge.

Even the good balls can go.

Shai Hope has hit two glorious sixes today.

That's been hammered. I think it's out of the ground over the river.

That's Shai Hope's fifty and that's one of the biggest shots of the day.

Can we have our ball back?

There are gasps in the crowd as Shai Hope heaves Matthew Potts out of the ground.

That may well be in the River Taff.

This is the acceleration West Indies were looking for here.

    Hope 46, Greaves 21

You can address this complaint to Mr A Zaltzman, Statisticians chair, TMS Box, Cardiff.

Justin Greaves heaves two fours off Adil Rashid to lift West Indies from their snoozy slump.

    Hope 45, Greaves 10

Jacob Bethell starts the over well and finishes even better with two dots. England will be very happy with that.

I don't think Jacob Bethell will mind these singles. If he gets away with singles from every ball then he'll take that.

  14. WI 231-4published at 40.4 overs

With 10 overs to go, Mahmood and Potts have two overs each remaining and will likely bowl at the very end. Adil Rashid has another two, which are bankers.

Brydon Carse has one left which leaves three for Harry Brook to find. Jacob Bethell is bowling the first of those...

There's no need to apologise, Al. Are we ruling Babar Azam out of this discussion? Your thoughts on the best all-format batter remain welcome.

Seven from this over, including a wide by Will Jacks. It's about par for this stage of the innings.

Sorry to add a sidebar at an early stage of the all-format discussion, but I'm quite enjoying the fact it's not very easy to decide. Shows there's more separation between formats (hooray!) than some may want to believe.

West Indies have only scored 53 in their past 11 overs. A score over 350 doesn't look quite as likely as it once did.

    England have pulled it back.

Looking increasingly likely that England will use nine spin overs in the last 15 here. Only five times in their home ODI history have they used nine or more spin overs between overs 36-50, the last of that coming against Australia in 2009. The spinners in that match picked up 4-29 off their nine overs in this phase.

I think West Indies were impatient with Greaves after one game. He should have continued as an opener.

His success as a white-ball cricket in the Caribbean has been as an opener. That's where he got noticed.
