Durham v Yorks 295-8 - bad light stopped play

This grey murk has come in and it's sitting right above us. Rain was forecast about 17:30 BST.
I think there might be a little out there now which is not obvious to the naked eye but we'll see what develops.
Essex 179 v Worcestershire 53-4
The fifty is up for the Pears and from 22-4 to get there without further loss is a decent effort.
It remains a real struggle against this excellent Essex attack in conditions delivered and wrapped in an overcast bow to the bowlers from the weather gods.
Shane Snater's just dropped one short and Brett D'Oliveira's rocked back and cut to the square-leg boundary to bring up his side's 50.
He goes to 18 (with a sore thumb), Adam Hose is on 13.
Sussex 222-2 v Surrey
It looks no brighter than it was when they came off originally but the hovercover is off at Hove, a rope has been dragged around the outfield and the action is about to resume.
Essex 179 v Worcestershire 41-4
With four slips breathing down your neck and the ball moving around Adam Hose is leaving pretty well.
The tall right hander has faced 10 of the last 12 deliveries and judged it just right. He's played at nothing he doesn't need to and has still managed to smack away anything that deserves it.
Shane Snater is convinced he should've had Brett D'Oliveira lbw a moment ago but it looked like the Pears skipper just got outside the line of off stump as he came forward.
Snater finished his appeal bent double with his hands on his knees.
Durham v Yorks 295-8
And with that, they are off for bad light. Just six balls were sent down with the second new ball and they have turned the game in Durham's favour.
Yorkshire still have a workable first innings total with two wickets still up and Dom Bess unbeaten on 57, but hopes of pushing on towards 400 are on the ambitious side now.
Thompson c Lees b Raine 0 (Durham v Yorks 295-8)
And another... it's two in two for Ben Raine as Jordan Thompson chips his first ball straight back to Alex Lees at mid on.
From a position where Yorkshire were in control, Durham have wrested it back with the second new ball gifting two wickets in its first two outings.
Raine has 3-59 and the White Rose is suddenly wilting.
Hill c Ackermann b Raine 64 (Durham v Yorks 295-7)
And the second new ball does the trick...
Bit of confusion surrounding that with George Hill standing his ground and the umpires having a quick meeting to decide whether it carried to Colin Ackermann at second slip.
Replays showed it was low and a good grab.
Sussex 222-2 v Surrey
There is action on the field from groundstaff if not from those in whites with the covers coming off at Hove. It looks like we might have some action again soon then. Looks a bit brighter than it was and no sign of rain now.
Warwickshire 34-2 v Nottinghamshire
Not a huge suprise that play has been abandoned for the day in Birmingham.
The rain came after nine overs this morning and never allowed the action to resume.
In that short time, Notts did bag two wickets - both to Brett Hutton - with Rob Yates and Bears skipper Alex Davies back in the hutch.
Let's hope for better weather tomorrow.
Durham v Yorks 293-6
And before you can blink Dom Bess has rattled that partnership up to three figures (103) with a lofted, one bounce four off Will Rhodes.
Durham are starting to look a little short of ideas bar waiting for the second new ball which is due in two overs.
Kent v Gloucestershire 275-4
A century on debut for Australia all-rounder Cameron Green, but it's come at a price.
The 25-year-old gets there with a quick single but is then forced to retire hurt after maybe tweaking something.
His stand with James Bracey has been worth 167.
In the other game still in play if Division Two, Middlesex have bowled out Glamorgan for 199 at Lord's.
Durham v Yorks 271-6
That was a sharp chance but it was catchable and Will Rhodes looked to get both hands to that before it burst through.
Brendan Doggett should have had his fifth there, Dom Bess flashing hard at one in the channel and getting a genuine edge which flew high to Rhodes at first slip.
That would have been a very welcome breakthrough just shy of the second new ball given this partnership is up to 87.
Kashif Ali c Thain b Porter 6 (Essex 179 v Worcestershire 22-4)
Boy Essex have caught well. Noah Thain is the latest to catch a fly at slip.
Jamie Porter's stuck in the right area and Kashif Ali's gone at it with hard hands and it's flown to Thain at fourth slip who's clung on low to his left superbly.
Essex all over the Pears.
179 looks a very decent total now.
Jones c Cox b Rajitha 0 (Essex 179 v Worcestershire 22-3)
It only lasted eight balls and it's ended in ugly fashion for Rob Jones as Kasun Rajitha picks up his first Essex wicket.
The Sri Lankan's sent down some pearlers but this isn't one of them.
It's short and wide and Jones has wafted at it and thinned it through to Jordan Cox behind the stumps (who's in for the injured Michael Pepper).
Not a great shot.
Essex roaring back here.
Durham v Yorkshire 258-6

We have had a few partnerships which have had decent starts today, only to perish in the 40s.
But Dom Bess and George Hill have now put Yorkshire's first 50-run stand on the board and it's all gone a bit flat in the field for Durham, as it often does on afternoons here, when the ball is of a certain age. This one is 74 overs old.
The lights have been on since just before lunch and we have murky overhead conditions, but for now the umpires are happy to continue with the action.
Hill has 53 runs to his name. His half century came in 71 balls and included eight fours. Bess, who made 107 in his last match, now has 33.
Durham v Yorks 260-6
Five overs to the new ball and Durham look in need of a little help from flight or seam if they are to cause these two problems.
George Hill is going nicely on 53 and Dom Bess has picked up where he left off in the second innings against Worcs last week, moving ominously to 34 from 56 deliveries.
The hittable medium pace of Will Rhodes often brings a breakthrough and Alex Lees has turned to him again, in tandem with Brendan Doggett, from the commentary box end, to deliver.

This is crucial now for Worcestershire, this is danger time.
They've collapsed in previous innings where they've had good starts - not that they've had a good start here - but the middle order has folded.

It's a brilliant take at third third slip.
It's Matt Critchley's second, it was different to the last one, he was falling forward but Shane Snater strikes again.
That's his second wicket and it's Gareth Roderick this time, who has been under assault really since he's been out there.
Durham v Yorks 250-6
Half century for George Hill who has batted nicely for 71 deliveries.
More importantly for Yorkshire, it comes up an over after he and Dom Bess have reached the same milestone together and just before they land a first batting point.
This could be turning into a decent score for Yorkshire who will now be looking realistically at 300 plus runs and possible plenty more than that given the way these two are settling in.
