  1. 'Essex dented'published at 12:46 British Summer Time 18 April

    Essex 85-4 v Worcestershire

    Don Topley
    BBC Essex

Well, 21-2, you are in the pound seats and then it was a very good, hardworking third wicket partnership of 60 to get to 81-3.

But Gareth Roderick took two catches, that of Tom Westley and that of Jordan Cox and it's left a bit of a dent to Essex.

  2. 'Good delivery, good catch'published at 12:41 British Summer Time 18 April

    Essex 84-4 v Worcestershire

It was a good delivery from Jacob Duffy, that's his third wicket of the morning. He just turned Jordan Cox round a little bit and he fell for it just outside off-stump and a little outside edge. He looked really dejected.

It was a good catch low down from Gareth Roderick.

A really good delivery, he had to play it and it's died on Roderick and he's taken it just off the turf.

It's a really good catch and he kept it in his gloves when his elbows hit the ground.

A big wicket and Worcestershire are back on top.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 18 April

    Clark lbw b Lawrence 2 (Sussex 102-2 v Surrey)

A single from Tom Haines off Dan Lawrence's bowling brings up the 100 but he fires back to take the wicket three deliveries later.

It was quite an innocuous looking delivery angled towards leg stump but with Tom Clark looking to clip it to leg, it turns just enough and hits in front of middle and leg.

A double breakthrough for Surrey with two wickets in four overs after a great start for the hosts.

  4. wicket

    Cox c Roderick b Duffy 32 (Essex 84-4 v Worcestershire)

Jordan Cox dismissedImage source, Rex Features

Jacob Duffy is brought back into the attack by Pears skipper Brett D'Oliveira and it's an inspired move.

With the final ball of his first over back Duffy squares Jordan Cox up with a corker which flies off the outside edge and through to Gareth Roderick.

That drop on four hasn't cost Worcestershire too much.

Three wickets for Duffy now. This is a good comeback from the Kiwi after suffering (as all the Worcestershire bowlers did, to be fair, at Yorkshire)

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:35 British Summer Time 18 April

    Lammonby c Brown b Fuller 36 (Somerset 84-3 v Hants)

Ah, not a great shot from Tom Lammonby.

James Fuller pushes one right across the left-hander and he goes for it with an attempted flash through cover.

But it also moves away a touch too and takes the edge through to Ben Brown.

  6. 'Loss of concentration from Vaughan'published at 12:31 British Summer Time 18 April

    Somerset 71-2 v Hampshire

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Disappointing for Archie Vaughan. He has beaten the highest score made by a Somerset opener this season, eclipsing the 14 it was previously.

So he'll be dissapointed having built the platform, made the start, looking comfortable and just having a momentary loss of concentration.

  7. Division Two latestpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 18 April

Lancashire continue to struggle against Leicestershire at Old Trafford.

Josh Bohannon is now gone to leave them 44-3.

Dane Paterson has made a breakthrough for Middlesex against Glamorgan. The South African got Eddie Byrom with the visitors now 52-1 at Lord's.

At Canterbury, Gloucestershire are 67-3 against unbeaten Kent.

Wayne Madsen and Brooke Guest are launching a recovery for Derbyshire against Northants.

They're 83-3 having been 29-3 inside the first hour.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 18 April

    Westley c Roderick b Taylor 28 (Essex 81-3 v Worcestershire)

Tom Wesley and Jordan Cox added 10 more to the 50 stand for the third wicket before Tom Taylor breaks it.

Again, there's just enough movement to make Westley's forward defensive push a hazardous idea and it takes the outside edge to Gareth Roderick, who scoops it up just above the turf.

    The Pears have three.

  9. 'Not a terrible start by any stretch'published at 12:23 British Summer Time 18 April

    Durham v Yorkshire 53-2

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Adam Lyth clearly showed he was disappointed with that decision but both openers now have gone.

They put on 43 for their first wicket so not a terrible start by any stretch but the game has now fairly quickly moved on with those wickets in an over.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 18 April

    Vaughan c Brown b Fuller 29 (Hants v Somerset 69-2)

A lapse in concentration from Archie Vaughan, who'd been looking good.

James Fuller floated a temper on a length outside off stump with a hint of away swing and Vaughan's groped for it a touch and grazed it through to Ben Brown behind the stumps.

Fuller has 1-12 after finishing his third over.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 18 April

    Hughes c & b Fisher 62 (Sussex 95-1 v Surrey)

Sharp piece of fielding off his own bowling by Matt Fisher and Daniel Hughes is gone.

The Sussex opener looks to turn it to the leg side but miscues back to the right of the bowler who takes a decent chance low to his right in his follow through.

Sussex still have a good start in the bag here after Hughes' charged start but a chink in the armour located for the champions.

  12. Doggett claims two in four ballspublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 18 April

    Durham v Yorkshire 53-2

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham put Yorkshire in on a green top but didn't really use the conditions to the best of their advantage and Yorkshire enjoyed a trouble-free first hour.

But then came a wicket out of nowhere as Adam Lyth clipped a simple chance to Graham Clark on 28. He was fielding at square leg and couldn't believe his luck.

Lyth couldn't believe he played that shot but moments later his fellow opener Finlay Bean also fell to the bowling of Brendan Doggett, as he took 2-1 in the space of four deliveries.

Yorkshire, having looked comfortable on 43-0, were suddenly 44-2.

    Essex 75-2 v Worcestershire

Jordan Cox and skipper Tom Westley are progressing nicely here for Essex as they continue their recovery after the early two-wicket burst from Jacob Duffy.

Westly's typically enjoyed anything on his pads and has five fours in his 28, while Cox is making the most of being dropped on four moving on to 24 with his third four to go with that majestic six.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:11 British Summer Time 18 April

    Bean lbw b Doggett 15 (Durham v Yorks 44-2)

Both openers are gone and Brendan Doggett has two in four balls.

Finlay Bean is been undone by a nice delivery from Doggett, threatening to go across him but shaping back at his pads and pinning him in front.

A great over for the hosts and belated vindication for putting Yorkshire in at the toss.

  15. 50 runs

for Somersetpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 18 April

    Somerset 57-1 v Hampshire

Archie Vaughan growing in confidence here. He's just caressed his fifth boundary - a lovely on-drive to bring up Somerset's 50.

His stand with Tom Lammonby nearing a half-century after the loss of Sean Dixon early on.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:07 British Summer Time 18 April

    Lyth c Clark b Doggett 28 (Durham v Yorks 43-1)

Bit of a soft dismissal and Adam Lyth is on his way.

The left-hander pulls a short ball from Australian paceman Brendan Doggett but holes out.

Graham Clark takes the catch and Durham are on the board.

  17. 'Hughes loves playing for Sussex'published at 11:59 British Summer Time 18 April

    Sussex 77-0 v Surrey

    Isabelle Duncan
    BBC Test Match Special

Daniel Hughes had a good time of it last season, I think he had a bit of a cameo role, an average 57.

So he loves playing for Sussex.

They are going along at a gallop and are looking relatively unflustered.

  18. 50 runs

50 for Hughespublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 18 April

    Sussex 73-0 v Surrey

A quickfire half century for the hugely experienced Australian Daniel Hughes, in 47 balls with nine boundaries.

It could not be going better for the hosts so far against the defending county champions.

  19. 50 runs

up for Essexpublished at 11:55 British Summer Time 18 April

    Essex 50-2 v Worcestershire

Jordan Cox hits a sixImage source, Rex Features

Ominous, perhaps, for the Pears here as Jordan Cox - dropped on four - has just swatted Ben Allison back over his head for six as if he's playing on the beach.

A little shimmy down to a decent-length delivery and a committed lofted whack.

He takes two off the next ball to bring up Essex's 50.

The home side counter-punching well after the early losses of Paul Walter and Charlie Allison.

  20. 'Light grey murk overhead'published at 11:55 British Summer Time 18 April

Warwickshire 34-2 v Notts - rain stopped play

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

To me the sky is getting much lighter and I can't really see any rain clouds about, it's just light grey murk overhead but clearly there's drizzle out there on the ground
