Gajnabi gave that one the kitchen sink but she really did not pick that back-of-the-hand slower ball.

Issy Wong has bowled that really well of late.

  2. wicket

    Gajnabi c Dunkley b Wong 22 (WI 72-8)

    Issy Wong gets Shabika Gajnabi.

The batter looks for a big one but only miscues her shot. Sophia Dunkley makes good ground before grabbing another fine catch to dismiss Windies' last hope Gajnabi, who leaves after scoring 22.

Lauren Bell has 13 wickets in seven T20Is against West Indies at an average of 12.1. She has picked up at least two wickets in five of the seven T20Is against them, the only instances where she didn't were in the T20 World Cup in 2023 and 2024.

  4. WI 72-7published at 16 overs

    Gajnabi 22, Fraser 2

New batter Cherry-Ann Fraser gets off the mark with a double after sweeping towards deep mid wicket.

Four overs to go and it will be a miracle if West Indies get to 100 here.

That almost gets through. Almost a hat-trick for Charlie Dean.

Charlie Dean gave herself the best chance there. Full, straight and on the stumps.

I'm not sure how Gajnabi kept that out.

  7. WI 69-7published at 15.1 overs

    Gajnabi 21, Fraser 0

Charlie Dean almost has her hat-trick.

She gets the delivery to turn onto the stumps but Shabika Gajnabi manages to defend it really late, to collective sighs from the England contingent.

West Indian batters have stepped down to 64% of Charlie Dean's deliveries today but haven't been able to break free, failing to score any boundary while taking that route.

Shermaine Campbelle, in particular, stepped out to all seven deliveries she faced against Dean, scored four runs, and finally perished.

It's not been great from West Indies.

Yes, England have bowled well but there has been no oomph from West Indies.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.3 overs

    Alleyne c Jones b Bell 0 (WI 69-7)

    England have another wicket.

New battler Aaliyah Alleyne tries to play Lauren Bell towards deep third, but only gets an edge which carries to keeper Amy Jones.

The hosts are celebrating while this already looks like a lost cause for the tourists.

The free hit is punished and for the first time in nearly six overs, it's a boundary for West Indies.

  12. WI 68-6published at 14.1 overs

    Gajnabi 15, Alleyne 0

West Indies finally get one to the boundary.

Lauren Bell oversteps and the tourists have a free hit which is sent past the rope through mid-off by Shabika Gajnabi.

Charlie Dean's on a hat-trick, England are rampant and West Indies are falling in a heap.

What a beautiful ball. Nice flight, enough to drag the batter forward and then turn.

Good from Dean. England have been really, really disciplined.

  15. wicket

    Mangru b Dean 0 (WI 63-6)

    Media caption,

Dean takes back-to-back wickets as West Indies collapse

Mandy Mangru does not last long.

Charlie Dean tosses a delivery up the pitch and Mangru goes for the sweep and completely misses it. She is castled.

Dean is now on a hat-trick!

That wicket was all down to the pressure.

The frustration for West Indies is that Campbelle is one of their more experienced players.

  17. Postpublished at 19:36 British Summer Time 23 May

    Henry Moeran
Test Match Special commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Campbelle needed to do something and in the end, that something was to not quite get enough on it.

Em Arlott takes the catch. She's having some day.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.5 overs

    Campbelle c Arlott b Dean 26 (WI 63-5)

    The pressure pays for England.

West Indies were getting frustrated and Shemaine Campbelle takes the aerial route to keep the scoreboard ticking.

But the Windies batter can only find Em Arlott near the rope after clubbing Charlie Dean down the ground.

    Ebony Rainford-Brent
Former England batter on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Both Campbelle and Gajnabi are striking the ball nicely. The issue is there either striking it to the fielders or only picking up one.

So West Indies are not picking up any momentum.

  20. WI 61-4published at 13 overs

    Gajnabi 15, Campbelle 25

Linsey Smith, bowling with the sunglasses on, continues to pile the pressure on the tourists.

Only three runs of her third over as West Indies need to pick up the pace her to put a respectable total on the board.

But they just can't find the gaps in the field at the moment.
