  1. Postpublished at 11:44 British Summer Time 29 June

    Surrey 37-0 v Durham

Rory Burns looks in good nick this morning.

Durham have just made their first bowling change, with Daniel Hogg replacing Matthew Potts at the Pavilion End and the Surrey captain drills him exquisitely through midwicket for four.

Burns' cut shot later in the over results in another boundary and he's moved along to 26 not out, with Dom Sibley on eight.

  2. Division Two updatepublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 29 June

Lancashire are being tied down at Chesterfield, they are 10-1 after nine overs against Derbyshire, with Keaton Jennings seven not out from 28 balls faced.

Jaydn Denly is looking in decent nick for Kent against Northants - he has 30 not out from 31 balls, including a six, and they are 40-0 in the eighth over.

James Harris and Timm ve der Gugten are still operating in tandem from Glamorgan, with Gloucestershire 28-0 in the 11th over at Sophia Gardens.

Leicestershire now have Ben Green into the attack against Middlesex, who are 37-0 in the 11th, with Josh de Caires 20 not out.

  3. Postpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 41-0

Henry Crocombe is thrown the ball to replace Gurinder Sandhu.

This is his second Championship appearance of the summer, having taken six wickets at Southampton in May after a shoulder injury.

He's in the side for Jofra Archer, though BBC Radio Sussex report that, should Archer not be selected by England to face India, he could be released and would be able to take part in the final two days of this match, if Sussex choose to do so.

  4. 'Lammonby just left his bat hanging'published at 11:40 British Summer Time 29 June

    Somerset 22-2 v Notts

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Tom Lammonby just left his bat hanging out there, I thought he deliberately let it go through to the keeper but he didn't withdraw the bat.

Ball hit bat rather than bat hit ball.

Both wickets now to the returning Brett Hutton.

    Walter c Lyth b White 16 (Yorks v Essex 24-1)

    Jack WhiteImage source, Rex Features

Perfect response from Jack White, whose previous delivery was punched down the ground by Paul Walter for four.

The next one leaves 'Tall Paul' and he gets a thick edge that flies to second slip, where Adam Lyth pouches it safely.

Essex skipper Tom Westley is Walter's replacement in the middle.

  6. Postpublished at 11:38 British Summer Time 29 June

    Hampshire v Worcs 16-1

Slightly atrocious stuff at Southampton and Kashif Ali gets a scare as he clips Kyle Abbott just to the right of short-leg Fletcha Middleton prompting some oohs and ahhs from the home cordon.

Kashif recovers nicely as he leans into a fuller delivery and sends it down the ground for a rare boundary.

Nine overs in the can and 16 runs from them. Scott Currie has replaced James Fuller in the attack after his early breakthrough.

  7. 'Patch of blue sky is getting bigger'published at 11:37 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 34-0

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

The patch of blue sky here is getting a little bit bigger here which is better for the batters than the bowlers.

  8. wicket

    Lammonby c Kishan b Hutton 2 (Somerset 22-2 v Notts)

Poor shot by Tom Lammonby who doesn't seem sure whether to play or not at that one from Brett Hutton. It's an easy catch for Notts' rhyming Ishan Kishan behind the stumps.

  9. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 34-0

More streaky runs for Alex Davies as he gets up on his toes to meet a shorter ball from the rangy Gurinder Sandhu and gets a thick edge which flashes past the slips and away to the rope.

He's onto 20 from 25 balls with Rob Yates on 10 at the other end.

  10. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Somerset 21-1 v Notts

He may be only low 70s in pace but Mo Abbas is such a quality performer. Absolutely nothing for Tom Lammonby to feast on in that over until the final ball, which he manages to steer down to third man for a couple.

  11. 'Aimless from Dickson'published at 11:30 British Summer Time 29 June

    Somerset 19-1 v Notts

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

It was a rather aimless shot from Sean Dickson.

He's been having a pretty good campaign in the T20 Blast but his run of lack of success against the red ball opening the innings I'm afraid continues.

  12. Postpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 29 June

    Yorks v Essex 16-0

Essex won't be too unhappy with their start after opting to bat on the relatively uncharted territory of Clifton Park.

Jack White had a half-shout for lbw turned down as Dean Elgar declined to play a shot and there was a crowd-pleasing moment when Dom Bess unfurled a throw that sent the middle stump flying out of the ground.

It looked good, but Elgar had comfortably made his ground at the striker's end.

  13. Postpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 29 June

    Hampshire v Warwickshire 25-0

Another boundary to the short side for Alex Davies, but by no means a convincing one, clipping Ollie Robinson uppishly a yard or so to the left of the stretching Fynn Hudson-Prentice at midwicket on its way to the rope.

Davies and his side are rattling along at just under a run a ball so far...

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 29 June

Derbyshire have their first wicket at Chesterfield with Lancashire's Luke Wells caught at slip trying to drive a ball from Ben Aitchison - they are 5-1 after four overs.

Middlesex have made a positive start at Grace Road - a couple of early fours for Josh de Caires in his 11 not out - and they are 16-0 after five overs.

No joy yet for Northants - who are again without Ben Sanderson but have Yuzvendra Chahal in their side- at Canterbury, where Kent are 16-0 in the fourth over.

Tight stuff from the Glamorgan new ball pair of James Harris and Timm van der Gugten so far after putting Gloucestershire in - the visitors are 10-0 after five overs.

  15. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 20-0

Alex Davies has picked up a couple of boundaries off Gurinder Sandhu to move into double figures as the Sussex attack strive to find their line and length in the early stages.

  16. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 29 June

    Surrey 17-0 v Durham

Matthew Potts is tearing in from the Pavilion End with three slips and gets a bit of bounce from the wicket, but so far no genuine difficulties for either Rory Burns or Dom Sibley.

The left-hander has scored 12 of Surrey's 17 runs so far, with the other five against Sibley's name.

Dickson lbw Hutton 0 (Somerset 10-1 v Notts)

    Brett HuttonImage source, Getty Images

Sean Dickson again comes down the wicket but plays across the line and a straight one from Ben Hutton has him leg-before. No doubt about that. Tom Lammonby in at three.

  18. Postpublished at 3 overs

    Somerset 9-0 v Notts

Both Somerset openers are using the shuffle forward tactic to try and negate any early seam movement.

Sean Dickson shoulders arms to the final ball of Mo Abbas' second over and is fortunate that he has just managed to get the pads outside off stump.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 29 June

    Nicholls c Brown b Fuller 0 (Hampshire v Worcs 3-1)

Kiwi opener Henry Nicholls ill-advisedly pushes at one from James Fuller and departs for a 12-ball duck.

Fuller angles the ball across the left-hander and Nicholls' waft only succeeds in edging to Ben Brown to take a routine catch. That's Fuller's 20th scalp of the season.

Kashif Ali is the new man for the Pears, while Hampshire already have their tails up.

  20. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 8-0

Rob Yates cut a rather short ball from Ollie Robinson away past point and to the short boundary at Hove.

Useful geography for a left-hander, can he cash in?

He's hit it hard enough that we might need a change of ball just 16 balls into the day...
