  1. 50 runs

for Cameron Bancroftpublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 29 June

    Glamorgan v Gloucs 95-1

Cameron Bancroft drives at a wide ball from Timm van der Gugten, doesn't middle it, but the ball runs away to third man for four as he brings up 50 from 96 balls.

He has reached 50 six times so far this season - two of the previous five were converted into 100s, including 176 against Derbyshire last week.

It was an excellent morning for the visitors who won the toss and had no hesitation batting despite the overcast conditions.

Rob Yates has looked in good form, his 50 arriving just before lunch with another excellent cover drive which have been a feature of his innings.

The wicket looks a good batting surface and with the kookaburra ball and a very hot day in prospect it could be a long afternoon in the field for Sussex

  3. Resumption at the Utilita Bowlpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 29 June

    Hampshire v Worcs 101-2

Back under way too at a now sun-soaked Southampton.

Jake Libby and Adam Hose aiming to push this partnership past 50, while the hosts are seeking a third wicket, with James Fuller aiming to add his own third, first-up.

  4. ouch!

Durham's Potts off injuredpublished at 13:44 British Summer Time 29 June

    Surrey 105-1 v Durham

The players are back on the field at the Kia Oval - but Matthew Potts is not among them.

The Durham and England seamer crashed into the advertising boards in front of the pavilion as he chased a straight drive in vain and has not come out for the start of the afternoon session.

It's Daniel Hogg who resumes proceedings with the first post-lunch over and concedes a straight driven boundary by Ryan Patel, but nothing else.

  5. Postpublished at 13:41 British Summer Time 29 June

    Somerset 100-3 v Notts

Time for the afternoon session at Taunton.

James Rew (41 not out) is on strike. Liam Patterson-White has the ball in his left hand.

His third delivery strikes him on the pad but he survives. There is some occasional turn there.

  6. Back under way at Hovepublished at 13:40 British Summer Time 29 June

    Sussex v Warwickshire 113-1

Ollie Robinson begins the afternoon session at Hove, bowling to Rob Yates who resumes on 50.

  9. 'Such a talent' - Andrew Radd on Wayne Larkinspublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 29 June

We have mentioned a couple of times yesterday's news that former Northants, Durham and England batter Wayne Larkins has died at the age of 71.

This was the reaction of BBC Radio Northampton commentator Andrew Radd on X,, external which sums things up very appropriately.

"A few words on Ned. Such a talent - and what a shame he never had the opportunity to showcase his skills in T20. Fun to be around, even when describing me as "the worst footballer I've ever seen" during a @BBCNorthampton, external charity match. Thanks for so many memories. RIP #308."

Yet another different opening combination for Somerset - Tom Kohler-Cadmore and a recalled Sean Dickson - but not with a happy result, as Dickson was lbw to Brett Hutton without scoring.

Tom Lammonby didn't last long, and when TKC [Tom Kohler-Cadmore] was caught behind off a good one from Mohammed Abbas, Notte were on top.

But a skittish James Rew and a restrained Tom Abell steadied the ship, as the spinners came on, so far without much sign of assistance from a hard, dry pitch.

As with the last series of Championship games, the bowlers are going to have to work very hard for their wickets with the widely disliked Kookaburra ball.

  11. 'Aggressive running' by Bancroftpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 29 June

    Glamorgan v Gloucestershire 90-1

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan's decision to bowl first, with Andy Gorvin in for Ned Leonard the only change on either side, appeared to be due to the early cloud and the likelihood of the pitch losing its green tinge under the sun on the second day.

But Cameron Bancroft and Joe Phillips had few alarms against Glamorgan's four-man seam attack with the half-century coming up in the 18th over.

Off-spinner Ben Kellaway made the breakthrough when he had Phillips smartly caught behind by Chris Cooke down the leg-side for 38.

Bancroft was running aggressively between the wickets as usual to reach 45 by lunch despite few big shots, as Glamorgan bowled a creditable 32 overs in the session using both spinners, Kellaway and Mason Crane.

  12. Lunch scores round-uppublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 29 June

    Division One

    Hampshire v Worcestershire 101-2

    Somerset 100-3 v Nottinghamshire

    Surrey 101-1 v Durham

    Sussex v Warwickshire 113-1

    Yorkshire v Essex 97-1

    Division Two

    Derbyshire v Lancashire 96-4

    Glamorgan v Gloucestershire 90-1

    Kent 110-1 v Northamptonshire

    Leicestershire v Middlesex 119-0

  13. Lunch at Cardiffpublished at 13:07 British Summer Time 29 June

    Glamorgan v Gloucestershire 90-1

After putting Gloucestershire in, having won the toss, Glamorgan had to wait until just a few minutes before lunch to make their first breakthrough.

Joe Phillips was the man to go, for 38, caught via a thin edge by keeper Chris Cooke as he tried to turn spin bowler Ben Kellaway into the leg-side.

Australian Cameron Bancroft has made a patient 45 not out from 94 balls faced and now has Ollie Price for company at the crease.

  14. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 29 June

    Kent 110-1 v Northants

The morning began with a minute's silence observed by both teams out in the middle and spectators around the ground following the death of former Northants and England batter Wayne Larkins, aged 71.

With play under way, it has very much been Kent's session, despite the loss of Jaydn Denly, caught at gully off Liam Guthrie for 35.

Since then, Ben Compton (29*) and Ekansh Singh (32*) have added 64 for the second wicket against a Northants attack which includes leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for the first time this season.

  15. Lunch at Chesterfieldpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 29 June

    Derbyshire v Lancs 96-4

Red Rose skipper Jimmy Anderson won the toss... but that has been as good as it got for his side so far.

Ben Aitchison and Zak Chappell picked up two wickets apiece as Lancashire were reduced to 44-4 in the 19th over, though stoic Keaton Jennings (41*) and Michael Jones have steadied the ship to guide their side to the brink of three figures without further loss at lunch, with Jones hitting four fours and a six in his 27* from 29 balls.

Derbyshire are yet to lose, and Lancashire are yet to win in Division Two this season, remember, and the opening session suggests that may not change this week.

  16. Lunch at Leicesterpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 29 June

    Leics v Middx 119-0

Sam Robson batting for MiddlesexImage source, Rex Features

Runaway Division Two leaders Leicestershire might be regretting their decision to put Middlesex in - they have failed to pick up a wicket in the morning session.

The visitors have made good progress, with both openers completing half-centuries just before the interval - Sam Robson on 52 and Josh de Caires 50.

  17. 'It's now becoming a nice strip to bat'published at 13:04 British Summer Time 29 June

    Hampshire v Worcs 101-2

    Michael Carberry
Former Hampshire and England batter on BBC Radio Solent

Overall I think Worcestershire have pretty well - from a sticky start losing Henry Nicholls in the second over.

The sun is now breaking through drying whatever moisture is left of the pitch early on. It's now becoming a nice strip to bat.

  18. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 31 overs

    Somerset 100-3 v Notts

A tough start to the match for Somerset as Brett Hutton and Mohammad Abbas took three wickets with the new ball Division One leaders Notts.

Abbas, in particular, was particularly impressive in a nine-over spell, the quality of which wasn't fully reflected by figures of 1-23.

Somerset, though, have stabilised the situation, led by James Rew, who has 41 not out in an unbroken stand of 54 with Tom Abel - the latter collecting a couple of Farhan Ahmed in the final over of the session to take the total to 100.

  19. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 29 June

    Hampshire v Worcs 101-2

Honours even at the Utilita Bowl as the Pears chose to bat first, lost Henry Nicholls for a 12-ball duck, recovered with Kashif Ali's breezy 44 from 38 balls, only for him to become James Fuller's second scalp.

Jake Libby (31*) and Adam Hose (22*) have guided their side through to lunch without further loss, adding 41 for the third wicket thus far.

  20. Lunch at Yorkpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 29 June

    Yorks v Essex 97-1

A good morning for Essex after opting to bat first at Clifton Park, with Dean Elgar advancing to 45 after a patchy start and Tom Westley alongside him on 36.

Jack White captured the only wicket to fall, that of Paul Walter for 16.
