  1. 150 runs

150 for Brownpublished at 11:27 British Summer Time 5 May

    Hants 439-8 v Durham 511

A clipped single off Matthew Potts brings up the 150 for the Hampshire skipper Ben Brown.

  2. Postpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 5 May

    Middx 238 & 92-3 (target 365) v Kent 129 & 473

George Garrett has an appeal for lbw against Stephen Eskinazi rightly dismissed by Rob Bailey.

It was high and going down so not a right lot to recommend it but it has given Kent's slip cordon the chance to have a squat jump and shout.

  3. Postpublished at 11:25 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 242-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

Middle of that bat again from James Rew, punching out to cover for one first ball from the Sri Lankan overseas bowler.

Kasun Rajitha then tightens up, inside edge into the body is not quite one, but next ball brilliant running from the Somerset pair, helped by a fumble at deep backward square equals a comfortable two.

It's a front foot no-ball as well, so four of that delivery that does not even count as a delivery!

More cheeky running then sees Craig Overton dive to manage a slightly riskier two!

Seven off the over, Somerset not wasting any time out there.

  4. 'Spot on from Potts'published at 11:23 British Summer Time 5 May

    Hants 436-7 (trail by 75 runs) v Durham 511

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It was spot on from Matthew Potts. He has found a little spot from that Pavilion End, every now and then the ball does keep a little low.

The off stump went cartwheeling. It was comprehensive.

    Just not what Hampshire wanted.

  5. Postpublished at 11:21 British Summer Time 5 May

    Lancashire 450 & 15-0 v Gloucs 589-8 dec

Lancashire won't want any alarms on what is still a flat pitch at Old Trafford.

Keaton Jennings and George Bell are off to a solid start for the hosts in their second innings.

    124 the deficit.

  6. Postpublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 235-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

Another decent over from Simon Harmer, but two off it and no wickets is another over win for Somerset, such that they make an early change, Sam Cook perhaps being saved for the new ball.

Kasun Rajitha back into the fold, I reckon he will bowl three before Cook and potentially Jamie Porter return, or Harmer himself could even take the new cherry with Cook.

    Somerset 145 & 233-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

Appeal for caught behind down the legside against Craig Overton off Sam Cook, but again not given, Cook himself did not appeal massively, that says enough in itself.

An inside half of the bat straight drive for one gives his wicketkeeper the strike.

James Rew on 78* is deprived of a single by a brilliant one-handed piece of fielding by former Somerset man Dean Elgar at close midwicket.

Seven overs until the second new ball.

  8. Postpublished at 11:14 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 232-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

A slightly quieter over though there was a guttural raw for lbw from Simon Harmer et al.

Not given, just the one single off it.

No mucking around here, the over rate is fast, it is chilly out there, Essex want this wrapped up and to get heading back east, but the overnight Somerset pair are still there.

  9. 50 runs

Back-to-back fours from James Rew off Sam Cook, the second played late past third man.

From 179-6, 110 balls it has taken the two of them and it is crucial for Somerset that they keep going a while longer.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 5 May

    Abbott b Potts 4 (Hants 431-8, trail by 80 runs) v Durham 511

Good ball to get early in the piece from Matthew Potts and too good for Kyle Abbott.

Potts worked really hard on this used and unresponsive track on day three and now has 4-64 for his 25 overs of unstinting effort.

  11. Cox awaiting scanpublished at 11:10 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 227-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

Jordan Cox scored a magnificent hundred, but strained his side just before slog sweeping to the boundary to get there, so he has had to be replaced for the rest of this match throughout the Somerset second innings.

The life of a substitute fielder in the County Championship is a very busy one.

Take Ed Middleton's last four days for example he went from Old Trafford Friday, to scoring a century and taking 4-fer in club cricket in Bristol on Saturday, back to Old Trafford Sunday, then playing for Devon in Oxford today.

  12. Under way at Lord'spublished at 11:09 British Summer Time 5 May

    Middx 238 & 81-3 (target 365) v Kent 129 & 473

There has been a slight rain delay to the start of proceedings on day four at Lord's but we are set to get under way about 10 minutes late.

Luke Holman and Stephen Eskinazi are in the middle with 284 runs needed for the win. George Garrett from the Nursery End will gets us going.

  13. 'I only make Essex slight favourites'published at 11:05 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 218-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

    Paul Newton
    BBC Essex sport

My money would be on Essex but only sheepishly, I only make them slight favourites.

It can change literally with virtually every over that goes by, another wicket obviously at any stage.

If Somerset get some loose deliveries like they were fed in that final session last night...

The game is alive and kicking and it could even end in a tie.

  14. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 218-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

An inside edge for Craig Overton gets this chase back under way off Sam Cook's third delivery of the day.

James Rew blocks off the middle of his bat and leaves comfortably before keeping the strike with a quick single to midwicket.

You do not need me to tell you that Simon Harmer will start proceedings alongside his little chef, spin from the River End.

  15. Under way at Southamptonpublished at 11:03 British Summer Time 5 May

    Hants 429-7 (trail by 82 runs) v Durham 511

Brendan Doggett gets things going on day four at the Utilita Bowl with Ben Brown in his sights on 143. The Hampshire skipper has Kyle Abbott for company.

  16. 'A season defining session?'published at 11:02 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 216-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

This could be a season defining session, certainly for Somerset.

They need another 105 runs to secure what would be one of the unlikeliest victories having been set 321 runs to win.

  17. Gloucestershire declarepublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 5 May

    Lancashire 450 & 0-0 v Gloucs 589-8 dec

Gloucestershire have declared overnight, so Lancashire will start their second innings 139 behind.

Ollie Price has an unbeaten 253 under his belt. That'll boost the average!

  18. Play at Tauntonpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 5 May

    Somerset 145 & 216-6 (target 321) v Essex 206 & 259

    Here we go!

Stop whatever may be trying to distract you on Bank Holiday Monday and stay glued to this one, it could be another final morning thriller between Somerset and Essex.

Remember the one where Craig Overton and Pete Siddle nearly defended just over 100 that Saturday morning or when Alastair Cook's batting won the title here in September a few years before...

Sam Cook has ball in hand..

Here we go then. Five games, plenty of talking points, some could go down to the wire...

  20. Where's this one heading?published at 10:59 British Summer Time 5 May

Hampshire 429-7 trail Durham by 82

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This time last year, in this fixture, we went into the final day with Durham still in their first innings.

This time around it's Hampshire and I am struggling to see anything other than a draw, which is what happened 12 months ago. The track is offering little to the bowlers. Only 17 wickets have fallen in three days.

Last May bad light and a bit of drizzle put us out of our misery mid-afternoon. There are one or two showers about today, but I am not sure they will do enough to bring about a premature end to proceedings this time around. It's chilly though. Only 9C at the moment.

Ben Brown is resuming his innings on 143. His highest score is 165* against Surrey last year.

I can see Hants actually gettng level, or even having a lead. But in an ideal world Durham will be batting at 4.50pm which will allow the players to shake hands and head for home.
