  1. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 8 overs

    Hants 29-0 v Yorks 121

Mark Stoneman has said he doesn't want to be viewed as the new James Vince but he is looking very solid so far as Hampshire look to build a substantial first innings lead against Yorkshire.

He gets a little too far underneath the final ball of Jack White's latest over but it's a short boundary out there and it carries beyond the rope to bring the left-hander a maximum.

Stoneman is 23 not out, with Fletcha Middleton six.

  2. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 4 April

    Warks v Sussex 172-4

Sussex captain John Simpson is in to join Tom Clark and, after getting off the mark with a boundary, clips Ethan Bamber to the mid-wicket fence although there are shouts of catch as it just evades a diving Hamza Shaikh.

  3. Division Two updatepublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 4 April

Superb bowling by Derbyshire's Anuj Dal, who bowls James Bracey for 48 and then traps Tom Price for a duck. He has 4-25 and Gloucestershire are now 138-6 in the 46th over.

Another wicket at Wantage Road as Raphy Weatherall cleans up Grant Stewart, leaving Kent on 181-7 in the 47th. Weatherall has 3-25 from six overs.

Tom Scriven bowls Ben Kellaway for one and Leicestershire have Glamorgan in trouble on 138-6 at Sophia Gardens, with Timm van der Gugten the new batter.

  4. Somerset begin their first inningspublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 4 April

    Somerset 0-0 v Worcs 154

Sean Dickson and Archie Vaughan are quickly out in the middle, keen to get going and continue Somerset's ominous momentum.

Tom Taylor opens up for Worcestershire who will be desperate for early wickets and get their mojo going once more after a dismal last few hours.

Dickson plays out four dots and then goes big with a wild swish at a ball wide of off stump. Luckily for the Somerset opener, it misses.

  5. 150 up for Essexpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 4 April

    Essex 160-2 v Surrey

Jordan Cox had been very circumspect in the start of his innings but he cracks a quick couple of boundaries and Essex get going again.

  6. 'Red Rose have found their groove'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 4 April

    Middx 186-3 v Lancs

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Lancashire have found their groove since lunch.

Going at near five runs an over in the morning session, they've dragged it back since the break.

Will Williams has benefitted from finding some rhythm from the Nursery End to locate the edge of Max Holden's bat.

And he's been well supported from George Balderson from the other end.

Can they keep this up or will the destructive Leus du Plooy counterattack?

Some of the members in the pavilion were late back to their seats after lunch, most are in place to watch what could be a fascinating afternoon.

    James Coles c Shaikh b Alli 51 (161-4)

    Oh James!

He's just reached his maiden First Division half century and James Coles goes on the back foot to try to slash Tazeem Ali through the off side but gets a top edge and Hamza Shaikh does the rest.

Warwickshire badly needed that and the change to spin has worked.

  8. 50 runs

50 for James Colespublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 4 April

    Warks v Sussex (161-3)

James Coles sweeps Tazeem Ali down to the boundary and he has a half century from 100 balls.

    Well batted.

  9. Postpublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 4 April

    Warks v Sussex 157-3

Tazeem Ali is on for Warwickshire.

The spinner has had just the one token over before lunch so far.

James Coles has a massive swipe as his first ball and there is a stifled appeal for LBW.

Don't give it away now James.

    Essex 145-2 v Surrey

    Sonia Twigg
BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra commentator

It's been good play by Surrey this afternoon. They've tightened up their lines and tried to stem the flow of runs.

There's been some good fielding placements, just cutting off any of the scoring areas that seemed to open up for Walter and Westley in the half an hour before lunch.

  11. WORCESTERSHIRE ALL OUT FOR 154published at 14:44 British Summer Time 4 April
    Breaking

    Finch lbw b Gregory 0

The Pears were well set at 70-0 this morning, but have lost their last 10 wickets for a paltry 84 runs.

A tremendous fightback from Somerset, underpinned by a brilliant spell from Kasey Aldridge (5-36).

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.3 overs

    Muyeye b Weatherall 72 (Northants v Kent 177-6)

Three wickets in consecutive overs for Northants and suddenly Kent are in trouble at Wantage Road.

Tawanda Muyeye batted well for his 72 off 106 balls but a fine delivery by Raphy Weatherall hits off stump and he is gone.

Grant Stewart is the new Kent batter.

  13. 150 up for Sussexpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 4 April

    Warks v Sussex (151-3)

Tom Clark clips Vishwa Fernando through mid-wicket for four and the 150 is up for Sussex.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 4 April

    Rhodes c Clarke b O'Neill 10 (Notts v Durham 171-5)

    What a catch!

Fergus O'Neill gets a ball to dip into Will Rhodes which takes the edge,

It looks certain to drop short, but Notts glovesman Joe Clarke dives low to his left to scoop the ball up before it can hit the turf.

Rhodes goes for 10 and it's three wickets for O'Neill.

Graham Clark is in to join Colin Ackermann (70).

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 41.5 overs

    Holden c Hurst b Williams 69 (Middx 178-3 v Lancs)

Matty Hurst is standing up to the stumps to seamer Will Williams and the tactic pays off as Max Holden is caught behind.

Holden batted for just over two and a half hours, faced 115 balls and hit seven fours.

The ever reliable Ryan Higgins is Leus du Plooy's new batting partner.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42.2 overs

Evison run out 2 (Northants v Kent 173-5)

Comedy moment of the day so far?

Joey Evison punches Justin Broad down the ground and sets off for a run while the bowler sprawls mid-pitch after stretching out his right hand in vain to try and stop the ball.

But Tawanda Muyeye isn't interested in the run and Luke Procter's throw is collected by Broad, who is barely upright again as he throws down the stumps as Evison vainly tries to recover his ground.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 4 April

    Hinley c Aldridge b Overton 0 (Somerset v Worcs 153-9)

The Pears are collapsing in a heap.

Tom Hinley takes a mighty swipe at his first ball from Craig Overton and edges his second to give Kasey Aldridge his second slips catch.

    Overton now has 3-24.

  18. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 4 April

    Essex 142-2 v Surrey

Surrey think the ball has gone out of shape.

Umpires Ian Blackwell and Russell Warren get the ball measure out and it won't fit through so the bag of balls comes out and a suitable replacement is chosen.

Matthew Fisher immediately goes through the defences of Paul Walter and into the gloves of Ben Foakes.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 4 April

    Allison b Overton 1 (Somerset v Worcs 153-8)

    That's an absolute beauty.

After a frustrating morning, Craig Overton has really found his groove as Worcestershire lose an eighth wicket.

Overton angles one in to Ben Allison which shapes away and clips the top of off-stump.

  20. Postpublished at 14:34 British Summer Time 4 April

    Notts v Durham 171-4

Dillon Pennington charges in for his 12th over.

He's bowled well thus far today but has yet to remove the zero from his wickets column.

Colin Ackermann runs through for a leg bye before Will Rhodes, on his Durham debut, is forced to defend the rest of the over as Pennington continues to find a good length.

Lyndon James is back into the attack from the Stuart Broad End, replacing Josh Tongue.
