  1. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.3 overs

    Suryakumar c Klaasen b Rabada 3 (Ind 34-3)

Well, it may have to be Kohli's day because nobody else fancies sticking around with him.

Suryakumar Yadav takes a big swipe to Rabada and picks out Heinrich Klaasen at deep square. It's a cracking diving catch, too.

South Africa have all the momentum. They can't afford to let it slide.

  2. Ind 32-2published at 4 overs

Is it Virat Kohli's day? Wouldn't it be so on-brand for him to play a match-winning knock in the final having barely got the ball off the square before now?

He punishes Keshav Maharaj for four more through the covers as the spinner drops too short.

Suryakumar Yadav has tried to play MS Dhoni's helicopter shot there. It very nearly crash-landed.

  4. Ind 26-2published at 3 overs

    Just chipped over mid-on!

An early scare for Suryakumar Yadav but he's off the mark.

Only three from the over though - a solid start from the class act that is Rabada.

What a start, for India in the first over, then South Africa taking two in the second.

  6. Ind 23-2published at 2.3 overs

Kagiso Rabada starts with three dots to Virat Kohli.

    The crowd's gone pretty quiet.

That is a triumph for Keshav Maharaj.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2 overs

    Pant c De Kock b Maharaj 0 (Ind 23-2)

    Wow!

After a flying start full of intent, India are in trouble and South Africa have held their nerve brilliantly.

Keshav Maharaj deserves plenty of credit for that because he was struck for two boundaries from his first two balls, but responds with two crucial wickets.

Pant goes for a big sweep to his second ball, only managing a top edge that gifts Quinton de Kock the simplest of catches.

I think it's hit his foot and ballooned up into the air.

Rohit gone for single fingers is the sort of thing a fielding captain would deal with the devil for. You'd give anything for it.

Rohit is trying to manipulate the field and a metre either side it races away for four. Maharaj has gone for two boundaries but got the key wicket.

  13. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.4 overs

    Rohit c Klaasen b Maharaj 9 (Ind 23-1)

    That's big.

Rohit Sharma has been in spectacular form, and South Africa's celebrations tell the story. The India skipper goes for one shot too many and picks out Heinrich Klaasen, who takes a smart catch at square leg.

    Rishabh Pant is in early.

  14. Ind 23-0published at 1.2 overs

    Reverse sweep, four.

Eight balls in and it's chaos out there.

  15. Ind 19-0published at 1.1 overs

Keshav Maharaj is edged past slip from his first ball.

    The runs are flowing.

After all of the talk, Kohli leans on his bat in between overs with one hand on his hip - looking like all is absolutely fine.

The three boundaries were all half-volleys. It's not the over South Africa wanted to set the tone in this final.

  19. Ind 15-0published at 1 over

Marco Jansen looks nervous. Again, he goes too full and Kohli drives down the ground for the third boundary.

South Africa needed to put out-of-sorts Kohli under pressure early on, and that over has done the exact opposite.

Jansen needs to drag his length back.
