  1. 'We didn't back up our first innings'published at 08:13 British Summer Time

Pakistan captain Shan Masood: "We've spoken about the third or fourth innings but, at the end of the day, it's a team game and everything has its advantages and repercussions as a team.

"When you put 550 on the board, it's important to back that up with 10 wickets and keep the game close. That's something we didn't do.

"If we take those wickets and keep England around our score or a maybe a bit more, then these 220 runs on a fifth-day pitch become challenging.

"That's the key, work it out as a team, how can the batting and bowling in the first innings contribute to a lead and then hopefully setting the match up?

"That's what we're struggling with, we're getting into good positions. The onus for us now is to set the game up so we can finish it off."

More from player of the match Harry Brook: "How do you score 300 in a Test match? Good question! You have to enjoy batting, build a partnerships, keep trying to put the bowlers under pressure. Then take as much fluid on board as possible! It was a good surface as well."

The problem is if Ben Stokes plays he's going to be playing as the third seamer.

You want the option of having both spinners. Leach and Bashir take up two bowling spots.

Then you have the two specialist seem bowlers. That will be a combination of Potts, Carse, Woakes and Atkinson. Stokes would take one of those bowling spots - he has to be able to bowl 10 overs in a day at least.

I'd rest Ollie Pope if Ben Stokes is fit for the second Test. He's out of touch with the bat and Stokes gives England an extra bowler to shoulder the burden on another flat track.

  5. 'Tried to bat as long as possible'published at 08:03 British Summer Time

Player of the match Harry Brook: "Obviously I've enjoyed it a lot. It was tough out there with the heat. It was good to be out there with Joe Root in that partnership.

"We just tried to bat as long as possible, to be honest. We chatted at lunch and set out a plan to score as many runs as we can."

The two ways you would ambush England is produce a pitch which will spin and turn from day one and challenge England's batters egos.

That's how you beat England away from home - India did it.

The other way is to challenge their egos and say 'we have got all these runs on the board'.

Some novelty-sized cheques currently being dished out to England's players.

Harry Brook, in particular, looks like he'll be a few quid better off after this match.

    A poor Pakistan performance.

Not only did they let England get back into the game, but you let them dominate and break you mentally - it has been the story of Pakistan Test cricket.

We're still waiting for the post-match presentations to begin where we'll hear who has been named player of the match and get the thoughts of both captains.

Brydon Carse, who perhaps deserved more than just four wickets based on how well he bowled, is just giving a flash interview so we'll have his thoughts shortly.

It is going to be a turbulent 24 hours in Pakistan cricket. I imagine there will be some inquisition.

Brydon Carse showed the reason why England are picking people for the style of bowling.

Carse has been unlucky to only take a couple of wickets in this third innings of the game.

He played the enforcer role very well and he will sit there with tired legs and a tired back given how much he slammed the ball into a lifeless surface.

He deserved more for his troubles.

In 735 Tests hosted in Asia, teams batting in the first innings have scored 500+ on 102 occasions.

Pakistan are the first of those teams in Test history to end up losing.

Jack Leach finishes with 4-30 from 6.5 overs. Impressive stuff but, of course, England's brilliant batting set this one up so he's unlikely to be in with a sniff of that player of the match award.

    Ridiculous.

A brilliant Test match for England. They looked down and out after a day-and-a-half.

They fought their way into the game with the bat in hand, led by Joe Root and Harry Brook - that partnership put the nails in the coffin of Pakistan.

    An impressive victory for England.

With Abrar Ahmed absent through illness England needed just the three wickets this morning to wrap up the win. Jack Leach bagged all of them.

What an incredible Test-match victory in Multan.

Naseem Shah here for a good time, rather than a long time it seems! He smacks Jack Leach for a towering six down the ground.

Jack Leach diving to his left and it's an excellent catch at knee height.

Shaheen Shah Afridi looking to play the big slog sweep towards wide long-on. It offers a tricky chance to Leach who tumbling to his left doesn't make any mistake.
