Joe Root has found it tough to get going early in this season's Hundred. In the first 10 balls of his innings, he is striking at just 73.

  2. Rockets 6-0published at 90 balls left

    157 runs needed

Dan Worrall takes the ball from the other end and it's a good, tight bowling from the Australian fast bowler

He concedes just two singles from his first set, and has Joe Root fencing on the offside from the penultimate delivery.

  3. Rockets 4-0published at 95 balls left

    159 runs needed

Another quick single gets Joe Root off the mark.

But the Rockets batter would have been walking back to the pavilion had Kane Williamson come up with a more accurate throw.

Only four runs conceded by Luke Wood from the first five balls.

Luke Wood opens with the ball for Spirit.

But his first delivery drifts down the leg side and is signalled wide.

Tom Banton then gets a quick single off the first legitimate delivery after a backfoot defensive punch.

I feel like London Spirit could have stretched it a bit more, been more aggressive and dreamed a little harder!

Tom Banton walks out to the middle with England great Joe Root.

They will open the batting for Rockets with 163 the target to keep their 100% record going.

Trent Rockets have a perfect record in The Hundred this season, winning both of their outings.

London Spirit, meanwhile, have one win from three games.

  9. 'We have got up to a good score'published at 19:58 British Summer Time

London Spirit's Jamie Smith: "An interesting surface. We have got up to a good score and a competitive score, hopefully.

"It is nice to be out there, especially in the powerplay, using those first 25 balls.

"It is nice to have that extra bit of time at the top.

"Kane [Williamson] has played here with Middlesex and he batted superbly. It took a lot of pressure off me, and we built a lovely partnership."

    Thanks, Ffion.

Let's see what Rockets have in reply to Spirit.

It's a quick turnaround in The Hundred games, so it won't be too long before their chase get going at Lord's.

But before that, here's what Jamie Smith had to say after his batting heroics.

  11. Postpublished at 19:53 British Summer Time

Jamie Smith's promotion to the top of the order worked wonders for London Spirit, as he made 52 while adding a fine partnership of 73 for the second wicket with Kane Williamson, the previous occupant of the top spot.

Trent Rockets were sloppy in the field, dropping each of them twice, before Ashton Turner's 30 from 16 balls provided a late burst.

Can they put that right with the bat and make it three wins from three? Here's Adwaidh Rajan to take you through the chase.

162-5 is the third-highest total at Lord's batting first in the men's Hundred. No team has chased a target above 150 at this venue in seven previous attempts.

Jamie Overton holes out to mid-wicket off the last ball, with Max Holden taking a smart tumbling catch, and that concludes Spirit's innings with Trent Rockets needing 163 to win.

Thick edge from Ashton Turner who has had an excellent innings. Rehan Ahmed made that look so easy.

But Ashton Turner's fun comes to an end thanks to a great catch from Rehan Ahmed.

Full and straight from Marcus Stoinis, which draws a leading edge and Rehan Ahmed runs back from cover and pouches the catch over his shoulder.

A very handy cameo from Turner, nevertheless.

Lockie Ferguson has been expensive today. Bowling both sides of the wicket, not quite getting things right.

London Spirit are motoring here and are getting to a very nice total.

  17. Spirit 158-3published at 95 balls

A low full-toss from Lockie Ferguson is heaved for four by Ashton Turner, and it goes from bad to worse for Trent Rockets.

They've missed the cut-off time so they can now only have four fielders out on the boundary, which sees Turner whack two more to the ropes!

The first is hoicked behind square leg, the second is clubbed down the ground. Turner has 30 from 15 and has provided the explosive finish that Spirit were desperate for after Smith and Williamson set the platform.

Going wide seems to be a set plan for the Trent Rockets. Their pacers have bowled 33% deliveries wide outside off stump today, the third-highest such percentage for any team in an innings this season. The top spot also belongs to them with 36% deliveries wide of off against the Phoenix.

That was too predictable from Sam Cook. Ollie Pope isn't in a great position to play the shot, but he knows getting anything on it would be fine and it goes for four.

  20. Spirrit 144-3published at 90 balls

    The boundaries keep flowing.

Sam Cook is trying to keep the batters quiet by bowling wide yorkers but Ollie Pope is equal to him.

He lofts a drive over extra cover before playing the next a little bit later and dabbing it past point for four more.
