    Durham 190 & 57-4 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 135

Tidy stuff from Tom Taylor who follows up his wicket over with a maiden to Colin Ackermann.

The 135-run lead is already looking daunting in the context of the game, especially with David Bedingham, Ben Stokes and Ollie Robinson still to come.

But in this game, who knows! Worcestershire will look back to the fact they were well-placed at 99-4 before collapsing yesterday.

  2. 400 up for Warwickshirepublished at 13:36 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset v Warwickshire 402-8

Michael Booth brings up the fourth Warwickshire batting point with an edge off Miguel Pretorius which finds the rope.

They have seven overs in which to find 50 runs for another - might not be a chase they are interested in, to be honest.

Michael Burgess is on 142* while Booth moves on to 26 not out with his fourth boundary.

The people happiest about the resumption of play at Taunton are definitely the chaperones of the hundreds of local school children who are taking advantage of the chance to watch top-level cricket at the County Ground.

The children are cheering every run-up and oohing and ahhing at all the appropriate moments. Then the excited buzz of conversation resumes as the bowler returns to their mark.

Surely one of the best sounds of summer along with skylarks and bumblebees?*

*Unless you're sat in the stand next to them, perhaps

  4. 'New ball will move around'published at 13:29 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset v Warwickshire 383-8

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

The conditions are quite heavy now so you would expect that new ball to move around a little bit.

  5. 'A cracking delivery from Taylor'published at 13:29 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 49-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 127

    Trevor Owens
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

It's a cracking delivery from Tom Taylor.

Peter Siddle is gone, two stumps out of the ground.

To say he found a way through there is a bit of an understatement.

  6. 50 runs

50 up for Durhampublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 54-4 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 132

Colin Ackermann is on the front foot and pulls out a handsome cover drive off Tom Taylor to get off the mark with a boundary.

It pushes Durham past 50 and takes the lead beyond 130.

  7. Postpublished at 13:24 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset v Warwickshire 389-8

Another maiden over from Craig Overton as Michael Booth misses with a flashing drive.

Michael Burgess leans into a cover drive off Migael Ptetorius for two, cheered on by an excited school crowd in the ground.

The third ball is short and pulled on the front foot for four.

A bit of a long hop really.

  8. 'The clatter of wickets continue'published at 13:24 British Summer Time 1 July

    Lunch: Gloucestershire 179 & 48-2 v Glamorgan 197

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

The clatter of wickets has continued on day two at Cheltenham as Gloucestershire reached lunch 30 runs ahead but with Ben Charlesworth and Ollie Price already out.

Both fell to edges off Timm van der Gugten as he continued his first-innings form, but Cameron Bancroft and Miles Hammond were quickly into their stride.

Earlier Glamorgan added 64 for their final three wickets as Mason Crane looked comfortable and was well supported in a rapid 50 stand by Andy Gorvin.

Beau Webster returned to remove both as Gorvin looped one to point and Crane was well taken at long-on by Ajeet Singh-Dale for the top score of 43.

  9. 'A good session of cricket'published at 13:24 British Summer Time 1 July

    Lunch: Surrey 262 v Essex 87-3

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

That is a good session of cricket; 101 runs scored and five wickets have fallen so the large number of students who are here on schools day are being entertained.

Surrey had Essex rocking at 45 for three and the removal of Dean Elgar for a 19 ball duck will have had the visitors’ changing room taking a sharp intake of breath.

Worrall, Taylor and Clark had the ball talking with plenty of seam and swing on show but Critchley and Walter have counter-punched well to have this beautifully poised at the lunch.

  10. wicket

WICKET Siddle b Taylor 3published at 13:23 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 49-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 127

That's way too good for a number 11!

Tom Taylor delivers a beauty which swings in between the bat and pad of Peter Siddle as he looks to drive and it takes out off and middle stump.

    Neck and crop.

Siddle did his job yesterday evening and allows Colin Ackermann to join the piece.

  11. Potts in the runspublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 49-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 127

Matthew Potts has been in top form with the bat this season and started the match with an average of exactly 50 from nine innings.

A brilliant stop in the deep, culminating with a tumble over the rope denies Potts a boundary off Tom Taylor. A nice stroke into the legside brings three.

Next over and the Durham number 10 glances Nathan Smith down to third man for his first boundary and then picks up two next ball to move to 14.

Solid start from the home side.

  12. Postpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset v Warwickshire 383-8

Craig Overton starts with a maiden over and now Migael Pretorius joins the attack from the other end in search of his fifth wicket.

But he won't get it there as Michael Burgess eases into a flowing cover drive for four.

Pretorius switches from full to back of a length and Burgess defends down the ground.

The fifth ball squares Burgess up on the crease, just missing the edge of the bat on the way to keeper James Rew.

That one was swinging in sharply.

  13. Postpublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 36-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 114

Matthew Potts makes a positive start as he produces an elegant drive through the covers to Nathan Smith's first ball of the day.

A damp outfield means there's no four, but they run through for three.

Peter Siddle survives the rest of the over without adding to the score.

Tom Taylor to open at the other end.

Word is, Division One's leading run scorer David Bedingham has a tight hamstring.

He did not field in the Pears first innings.

Matt Critchley drives down the ground without quite clearing the field.

Just the three runs off the over and Dan Lawrence will bowl the last one before lunch.

He's a handy bowler and just might nip another wicket out here.

Paul Walter leaves the ball outside off stump.

He blocks out the last ball and Essex end the session trailing by 175.

A vital fourth wicket partnership worth 42 after early wickets fell this morning.

  15. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset v Warwickshire 379-8

The rain has cleared and the players are back on.

The Michaels are in the middle.

Michael Booth is on 18 not out and will face acting Somerset captain Craig Overton.

Michael Burgess is 127 not out at the other end.

  16. Lunch at Southamptonpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 415-6 v Kent

Kent have just about kept themselves alive in this one with three wickets this morning.

They have ousted Ben Brown for 110, Liam Dawson for 16 and then nabbed the prize scalp of James Vince for a majestic 211 just before lunch.

Vince and Brown did put on 259 for the fourth wicket, a record for the club against Kent.

Grant Stewart has 3-78, including both centurions, but Kent have conceded 400 in a first innings for the eighth time in nine matches this season.

Hampshire will fancy their chances of passing 500, just as Kent have allowed on six previous occasions, in the afternoon session of this elongated day.

  17. Play resumes at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 13:11 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 33-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 111

After losing the morning session to rain, Nathan Smith gets us under way at the Riverside as Worcestershire look to make early inroads.

The unlikely and lesser-spotted Durham fourth-wicket pair of Matthew Potts and Peter Siddle are at the crease but maybe not for long.

The hosts have the batting power of Ollie Robinson, David Bedingham and Ben Stokes still to come in a lop-sided line-up as they look to set a winning target.

    Expect fireworks.

  19. Play to resume at the Riversidepublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 1 July

    Durham 190 & 33-3 v Worcs 112 - Durham lead by 111

Good news at Chester-le-Street where the rain has passed and we are good to go at 1:10 BST.

After the morning session was washed out, we've lost 16 overs so 80 are scheduled - if the weather plays ball, that is.

  20. Postpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 262 v Essex 84-3

A pause in play now as it looks like Surrey are going to get the ball changed.

It has gone for a couple of sixes since those early wickets were taken, which may have tarnished it a bit.
