Timm van der Gugten has followed his five-wicket haul in the first innings by taking two early wickets to put the skids under Gloucestershire's second knock.

Mason Crane (44) had earlier eased Glamorgan into a narrow 18-run lead on first innings, with Beau Webster finishing with super figures of 5-17.

Cameron Bancroft (17 not out) and Miles Hammond (23 not out) have put Gloucestershire back in front and the hosts lunch with a precarious 30-run lead.

    Leics 179 & 149-4 v Middx 86 - Leics lead by 242

Lewis Goldsworthy (60 not out) and Harry Swindells (22 not out) have put Leicestershire in a strong position as they look to end Middlesex's unbeaten start to the season.

The Foxes lost three early wickets to Toby Roland-Jones (3-30) and Ryan Higgins (1-30).

But since then Goldsworthy and Swindells have put on an unbroken 86-run fifth-wicket stand to propel the hosts to a 242-run lead.

Taylor bowls a full length to Paul Walter, who defends.

    Surrey 262 v Essex 76-3

Change of bowling and a change of ends for Jordan Clark, now in the attack from the Vauxhall End.

Paul Walter heaves the second ball over short mid wicket for six!

Clark is round the wicket now and Walter edges short of third slip.

We'll have time for probably three more overs before lunch, which will be taken at 13:10.

  6. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 262 v Essex 68-3

Single to Matt Critchley on the drive to James Taylor.

Taylor fields off his on bowling to prevent a Paul Walter drive down the ground from bringing a run or four.

But there's no stopping the fifth ball, which is clipped to square leg on the front foot for four.

One more run off a near identical shot to end the over.

WICKET Vince c Leaning b Stewart 211published at 12:54 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 400-6 v Kent

The ball spits up from back of a length from Grant Stewart and that's a back foot edge straight to slip Jack Leaning who takes the catch above his forehead.

No new First Class best for James Vince, who looks mightily aggrieved, but what a knock that is, 211 from 279 balls with 33 boundaries. Imperious.

Kent have a second bowling point with 11 balls to spare.

Keith Barker is the new man, joining James Fuller.

    Hampshire 400-5 v Kent

Matt Parkinson is introduced into the Kent attack 20-odd minutes before the late lunch they are taking at Southampton.

Harry Finch shows some lightning glovework to whip the bails off after the ball beats James Fuller's bat, but the Hampshire man has just about regained his ground.

Umpire Ben Debenham is not having it.

Fuller replied by clubbing Parkinson for six off the very next ball. The first of the match, and it brings up another batting bonus point.

    Surrey 262 v Essex 62-3

Tom Lawes is getting plenty of movement outside off stump and Matt Critchley leaves the ball alone.

He defends a straighter one down the pitch and pulls a short one behind square leg for six!

He picked up the length very quickly. Fine shot.

He's really stood up to a top notch Surrey attack in this innings so far.

He gets a single off the fifth ball and Paul Walter pulls the last one to long leg for four.

  12. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Chesterfieldpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derby 76 v Yorks 402-5

Only rain it seems can delay Yorkshire's march to back-to-back Championship wins as the covers come in at Queen's Park.

James Wharton and Jonathan Tattersall are both within 12 runs of big landmarks.

Wharton needs a dozen for a double ton, and Tattersall the same for his third first-class century.

  13. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 262 v Essex 51-3

Matt Critchley leaves Tom Lawes outside off stump.

The second ball is safely dabbed wide of the slips to third for four runs.

He tries to repeat the shot but that ball nips a long way away, missing the edge and that's a fine take by keeper Ben Foakes, diving in front of first slip.

The Essex 50 comes in the 17th over via a push to the off side.

Close! The last ball is short, pulled to deep square and lands just short of three fielders, Sai Sudharsan, Ryan Patel and Ben Foakes for a very streaky single.

  14. Fourth batting point for Yorkshirepublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derby 76 v Yorks 402-5

James Wharton helps himself to his 23rd boundary, this time off Daryn Dupavillon, to move to within 12 runs of a double-hundred and takes Yorkshire past 400.

They still have five wickets and more than 20 overs to get the 48 runs needed for maximum batting points.

The lead is a mammoth 326 runs.

  15. Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 1 July

These are tense times for Essex, who in effect are four down because Jordan Cox is absent injured.

Absolute peach, beating the forward block and ripping out the off stump.

    Paul Walter to bat next.

Josh de Caires serves up a full toss and Lewis Goldsworthy drives it for the single he needs to bring up a superb counter-attacking 50.

It's a fifth red-ball half-century of the 23-year-old's career and has come at a decent lick, off 60 balls with eight fours.

And on a pitch which has caused problems for virtually everyone else.

The Somerset loanee was also top scorer in the first knock with 41.

Roll up the pitch and take it home, Lewis.

  19. Postpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 1 July

Shot! Matt Critchley is forward to Tom Lawes, driving a wide half volley through cover for four.

All along the floor. Lovely shot.

He tries to drive through wide mid off but a fine diving stop prevents the run.

A deep cover moves into position.

Critchley drives to point for no run.
