South Africa will never get a better chance than this to knock Australia out of a World Cup. Taking the teams and the players out of this, anyone would say that the chasing team should win this game.

14 runs from the last three balls as Wolvaardt gets in on the action, sweeping Gardner past backward square.

    Bosch, and indeed Bosch!

Forgive the obvious pun, but unavoidable when Anneke Bosch plays shots like this.

She slog sweeps Wareham for four through a vacant square leg, then crashes the following ball over mid-wicket for six.

Her previous top score in this tournament was 25, but Bosch is now on 45 from 29.

If they can take Megan Schutt for singles at this stage, South Africa will be happy. Australia have got to bring someone on to try and break this partnership.

  6. SA 81-1published at 11 overs

    54 needed from 54 balls

South Africa playing with fire after the interval, as Wolvaardt mistimes an aerial shot off Schutt into a gap behind the short mid-wicket fielder.

Bosch then dramatically reverse scoops down to the boundary at third, two Australia fielders close in to relay the ball back to the keeper.

No boundary for 3.5 overs now.

A little bit of a problem for Australia here, in the sense that the ones are building for South Africa. The dot balls are not totalling at all. Boundaries have been infrequent but South Africa are still managing to collect runs.

The left-arm spinner Sophie Molineux returns for Australia, and South Africa take five singles from her to go into the half way drinks break.

South Africa are well-positioned here, can they close out the match in the back half of the innings?

  9. SA 69-1published at 9 overs

The South African pair work Sutherland's medium pace around for six runs.

    A run-a-ball over, a run-a-ball target - they need 66 from 66.

  10. Not outpublished at 8 overs

    SA 63-1

    Terrible review.

Impact far outside off stump - an insight into Australia's mindset, that they were desperate enough to try that?

Wolvaardt finishes the over with a swept two through mid-wicket.

Georgia Wareham appealed for lbwImage source, Getty Images

Wareham goes up for an lbw appeal as she strikes Wolvaardt on the top of the pads.

It looks rather hopeful, the South Africa captain had moved across her stumps, but Australia are going to take a look.

South Africa are not holding back here, they are trying to do this with authority.

  13. SA 57-1published at 7.1 overs

Bosch welcomes Georgia Wareham to the attack by smacking the leg-spinner's first ball through long-off for a one-bounce four.

She moves to 17 from 11.

Laura Wolvaardt looks so dominating out there. She has had an incredible year and she is captaining this team in a very calm, controlled and mature way.

    Fifty up with a six!

Seamer Darcie Brown enters the attack and South Africa work her for four singles before Wolvaardt absolutely gets hold of one, clearing the ropes at long-on with a mighty swing of the bat.

Brown responds by whistling her final delivery past the South Africa captain's bat.

That's a good-looking shot! This is why they have stuck with Anneke Bosch. She knows that ball will be angling into her, she just steps to the off-side - it's really clever batting.

'That's a good looking shot!' - Bosch hits Molineux for back-to-back fours

    Consecutive fours for Bosch!

She makes room and slog sweeps Sophie Molineux through an empty square leg, then just evades the hand of a leaping mid-off with a drive to the boundary.

That's the end of the powerplay - Australia were 35-2 at this stage.

South Africa have had a decent start and when it's not their day, Australia can be beaten. They definitely didn't bat like they can bat down to number nine, they batted with a certain timorousness.
