  1. SA 33-1published at 5 overs

Anneke Bosch is the new batter, she takes a run into mid-wicket and makes the single tighter than it needs to be by not running her bat in - a replay shows she just made it home.

Woolvardt then smacks a four through the same region, then clips a two down to long leg.

Eight runs and a wicket from the over.

Tazmin Brits has decided to take this game to Australia with that six.

  8. 6 runs

    SA 22-0published at 3.3 overs

Well, Brits got hold of that!

She absolutely cleaves Gardner's off-break down the ground - Annabel Sutherland down there again at long-on but she can't get near it.

The first six of the match.

  9. SA 16-0published at 3 overs

    Four more!

A cutter from Schutt and Woolvardt edges through an empty cordon region, with the ball beating the chasing fielder to the ropes.

Schutt throws her hands up in frustration.

  10. SA 11-0published at 2.4 overs

    Clouted!

Brits, who seems to want to start positively, heaves the ball over Schutt's head.

It seems destined to be fielded by Annabel Sutherland down on the boundary, but she gets in an odd position and sees the ball break through her grasp and over the ropes.

Oddly, there's another ball sat just inside the boundary - they need to get rid of that.

South Africa will be hoping the pitch is different in this innings. They need to not get stuck in this powerplay, they've got to stay above that run-rate.

  12. SA 4-0published at 2 overs

Spin at the other end for Australia, with Ash Gardner taking the ball.

Brits clubs her opening delivery over mid-off for two, but can't get any of the over's remaining deliveries away.

The required run-rate, which started at 6.75, is already up over seven.

  13. SA 2-0published at 1 over

Wolvaardt gets South Africa off the mark, turning Schutt's second ball square for a single.

Tazmin Brits then pulls a short delivery down to long leg for her first run.

Beth Mooney is standing up to the Australia opening seamer, as she done for much of this tournament.

  14. SA 0-0published at 0.1 overs

Time to get on with it, the formidable Megan Schutt is to open the bowling for Australia.

Her first delivery swings in a little to South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt, who defends.

  15. 'We know that we can chase 135'published at 16:36 British Summer Time 17 October

South Africa's Nonkululeko Mlaba: "I think what worked well today was our changes of pace. Personally, I was happy that I managed to bowl 4 overs for 31 runs. It was hard out there but I was happy that we managed to slow Australia down, as we know that they can come hard at you.

"This will be a good chase for our batters. We know that we can chase 135, we are capable of doing that so I am excited to see our batters put some solid runs on the board."

If you had told South Africa this at the start, they would have been happy. Australia were certainly cautious and conservative with there batting but I would say that this is a 150 pitch max.

It will be a nervy chase and we are in for a nail-biter.

    Thanks Ffion.

    WynneViz - it's a thing.

Can't really use my surname in a similar fashion - all I can say is hope this is an exciting chase and doesn't peter out.

To mangle a Peep Show quote, let's hope it hits Maximum Peter.

I'm not sure what to make of that. The pitch definitely didn't look as good for batting as the other day, but West Indies did prove that it was a lot easier to bat second at this ground.

Then again, Australia have the best bowling attack going.

So I'm going to put my WynneViz out there (credit the incoming Mike Peter for that one) - and say South Africa have got this.

And that's my cue to hand over for the upcoming chase.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 20 overs

    Perry c Brits b Khaka 31 (Aus 134-5)

Tazmin Brits makes up for it with a stunner!

Ellyse Perry looks to be ending the innings in style as the ball flies over to the mid-wicket boundary as Ayabonga Khaka gifts her a full toss, but Brits appears from nowhere to take a brilliant grab on the move.

After a strange innings, South Africa need 135 to win.
