London Spirit really need a breakthrough soon, it is less than run a ball now for the Brave.

  2. Brave 68-1published at 63 balls left

    The runs are flowing.

Maia Bouchier steps across her stumps and sweeps Charli Knott over short fine leg for four.

    Very smart batting.

  3. Invincibles lose Jacks in powerplaypublished at 79 balls left

Men's competition: Oval Invincibles 38-1 against Northern Superchargers (Target 199)

Set 199 to win by Northern Superchargers, Oval Invincibles got off to a steady start but lose Will Jacks with four balls remaining of the powerplay.

Jacks was the more aggressive of the two Invincibles openers and after hitting Matthew Potts for the first six of the innings two balls earlier, he departs for 25 from 11 balls.

Invincibles have a mountain to climb and they will need in-form Jordan Cox to deliver here if they are to have any chance of getting a win.

49-1 is Southern Brave's highest score inside the powerplay across five seasons.

Overall, this is the third-highest powerplay score this season after Oval Invincibles' 54-0 v Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets' 52-0 v London Spirit.

    Welcome, Eva Gray!

The seamer's first ball is sent straight back over her head for six by Laura Wolvaardt!

  6. Brave 53-1published at 70 balls left

    Target 126

Good fightback from Sarah Glenn, just four singles conceded as Spirit are desperate to drag back some control.

At the same stage, Spirit were 30-1 so the visiting side are comfortably in front.

You want all your players feeling good going into that final stage because then you know any one of them can win you the game on that day. That is exactly what the Brave have and they are cruising at the moment.

Laura Wolvaardt has used her crease beautifully against spin today. She has hit a boundary off her front foot from within the crease, a boundary while stepping out, and another one while backing away and giving herself room. Off the back foot, she has rotated the strike.

  9. Brave 49-1published at 75 balls left

    Target 126

    Maia Bouchier joins the party!

Too wide and it's delicately placed past point for four more. Expensive from Issy Wong, a shame for her after such a strong start by dismissing Danni Wyatt-Hodge.

A dominant powerplay from Southern Brave.

    Five wides!

That six has thrown Issy Wong. The ball flies down the leg side and past the keeper.

    Hello!

Laura Wolvaardt is such a technically gifted player, known for those fluent drives, but she shows some aggression with an almighty six over mid-wicket off Issy Wong.

Beautifully picked up and puts the seamer under pressure straight away.

  12. Brave 33-1published at 80 balls

    Target 126

Laura Wolvaardt looks in fine touch here. A skip down the pitch brings her four more down the ground, before crunching a wider delivery through the covers for the same result.

Expensive from Bex Tyson but my word, Wolvaardt is a delight to watch.

  13. Brave 24-1published at 85 balls left

    Target 126

More glorious timing from Laura Wolvaardt, who drills the ball down the ground and past long-off for four.

Charlie Dean's first five balls concede nine runs and that early wicket hasn't fazed the Brave batters much at all!

  14. Brave 15-1published at 90 balls left

    Target 126

Laura Wolvaardt, the South Africa captain, gets off the mark with her usual elegance by driving through the covers for a couple.

That's a big breakthrough for the Spirit. Danni Wyatt-Hodge is good at chasing, so they'll be glad she's gone.

It was a brave review and it was a good one in the end. The delivery threatened to swing away from the right hander but it hits the seam and comes back sharply and traps her on the pads.

It's a brilliant piece of bowling from Wong.

    Wyatt-Hodge lbw b Wong 9 (Brave 13-1)

Wow! Hitting leg stump and what a review!

Good response from Issy Wong after that boundary, getting the ball to nip back sharply into Wyatt-Hodge, who plays all around it.

Much-needed breakthrough for the home side, who are under pressure.

I think London Spirit will be disappointed but we'll see. It didn't feel right.

  19. Spirit reviewpublished at 92 balls left

Huge appeal from Issy Wong, who is pleading with the umpire Anna Harris to give Danni Wyatt-Hodge out lbw.

It's not given, so with a second to spare, Spirit ask for a review. It looks like it's sliding down the leg side at first glance.

  20. Brave 13-0published at 94 balls left

    Or not!

A stunning shot from Danni Wyatt-Hodge, a cover drive straight from the coaching manual for her second boundary.
