    And now a run out?

    It's all happening.

Sinalo Jafta joins Nadine de Klerk in the middle, and the wicketkeeper slices her first ball past point for four to bring up South Africa's 100 in style.

Shangase st Jones b Kemp 31 (SA 97-6)

A cracking piece of work from Amy Jones!

She missed a stumping when Shangase was on 23, but makes up for it here by whipping the bails off with the batter's foot just centimetres in the air.

Shangase departs for 31, having helped South Africa avoid total embarrassment. A promising innings in a partnership of 52 with Nadine de Klerk.

And a wicket straight after the delay?

Amy Jones thinks she has Nondumiso Shangase stumped.

  5. ouch!

    SA 97-5published at 15.3 overs

Two more for Nadine de Klerk but bad news for Heather Knight.

She gets some awkward bounce at extra cover and the ball ricochets off her wrist, which requires some treatment.

  6. SA 95-5published at 15.1 overs

Nondumiso Shangase with a contender for the shot of the evening so far.

She drives Freya Kemp straight down the ground for four, playing with a lot more confidence as she moves to 30 from 33 balls.

No batter has scored more runs than from No.6 or below in a T20I series against England than Nadine de Klerk's 79 and counting - she's been exceptional down the order for South Africa.

  8. SA 91-5published at 15 overs

    Chaos!

Nadine de Klerk is almost caught at mid-off but the ball drops short of Nat Sciver-Brunt. The batters then scamper a risky single and De Klerk has to dive full-stretch to avoid being run out.

Just five from Sophie Ecclestone's third over.

  9. SA 86-5published at 14 overs

    That's how you do it!

Nadine de Klerk shuffles down the pitch and lofts the ball elegantly over cover for four.

Nondumiso Shangase's technique is not good; she is getting away with murder here. She plays so early and England are not taking advantage of it. Some some slower balls, mixed with bounce, would be key.

  11. Missed stumpingpublished at 13.2 overs

    SA 81-5

You don't see this very often!

A beauty from Charlie Dean lures Shangase down the pitch, with the ball firing down the leg side but Amy Jones can't gather it cleanly.

Shangase gets a life on 23.

  12. SA 80-5published at 13 overs

Another pull shot from Shangase reaches the ropes, perfectly dissecting Sophia Dunkley and Nat Sciver-Brunt on the leg side.

The inexperienced batter started very slowly considering South Africa's perilous position but she's held her own out there.

I love the fact that the England bowlers are taking risks and are trying different things. A lot of bravery is being shown in terms of mixing it up.

  14. SA 71-5published at 12 overs

The widest of wides from Freya Kemp as she attempts a slower ball, with Amy Jones scrambling to stop it behind the stumps. Kemp shares a laugh with Heather Knight though, showing just how relaxed and in control England are.

Nondumiso Shangase then pulls the final ball of the over for four as the partnership continues to add vital runs for South Africa, even if they're not exactly flowing freely.

That's the first boundary since the powerplay!

Nadine de Klerk has got to be facing the strike as much as possible now.

  16. SA 61-5published at 11 overs

Eight runs are worked from Lauren Filer's third over but the boundaries are proving very difficult to come by. England have been extremely disciplined throughout.

Freya Kemp's bowling action worries me. There is a lot of leaning back and twisting of the spine, which is something you want to avoid.

  18. SA 53-5published at 10 overs

Another miserly over from Freya Kemp.

Nondumiso Shangase is going nowhere, with seven from 16 balls so far.

England's spinners have hit the stumps with 37% of their deliveries in T20Is this year - that's the third-highest rate ever in a calendar year behind Bangladesh (also in 2024 with 41%) and Australia (2016 with 38%).

  20. SA 51-5published at 9 overs

Sophie Ecclestone rattles through another over with just five coming from it, as Nondumiso Shangase and Nadine de Klerk just look to hang in there and avoid any further damage to the wickets column for the time being.
