    BBC CWR Sport

The Bears have a very poor recent record in quarter-finals.

They've lost their last three, including two at home in the last two years.

But they'll never have a better chance to break that run than here.

In case you missed the news earlier on, it's been a tough day for a couple of county head coaches.

Northants have parted company with John Sadler following their defeat by Somerset in last night's quarter-final.

Meanwhile, Matt Walker will leave Kent at the end of the season after eight years in charge.

  4. 'We defended the ropes well'published at 20:26 British Summer Time 6 September

    Birmingham Bears v Gloucestershire 138

Birmingham Bears spinner Danny Briggs told Sky Sports:

"We have been good with the ball and in the field all competition and it counts for so much in this form of the game. Hopefully we have limited them to a manageable score.

"We all chipped in there and came back from a good start from them and defended the ropes well."

You'd think that the home crowd have cause to be feeling happy at halfway. They certainly sound it here at an ecstatic Edgbaston.

Gloucestershire looked to be heading for a run glut when they piled up 50-0 in just five overs.

But, Cameron Bancroft's 43 aside, it's probably best to sandpaper over the rest.

Just three sixes hit in the entire innings, three wickets for young New Zealander Zak Foulkes, two for Danny Briggs.

After too many failures in big nights here in recent years, it's hard to imagine how the Bears can mess this one up - 139 to win seems a formality. But Warwickshire cricket folk do say 'never say never'!

    Bears v Glos 138

    Mike Taylor

And they've done it giving the opposition a five-over head start.

  7. wicket

WICKET Payne c Briggs b Briggs 6published at 19.2 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 138

    GLOUCESTERSHIRE BOWLED OUT FOR 138!

Runs were desperately needed, but David Payne's big slog is mistimed to deep backward point and that is all she wrote.

A brilliant disciplined bowling performance after Gloucestershire had got a flying start.

  8. 'First rate'published at 20:18 British Summer Time 6 September

    Bears v Glos 137-9

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

    Another direct hit!

The Bears fielding has been first rate.

  9. wicket

WICKET M Taylor run out (Garton) 15published at 20:17 British Summer Time 6 September

    Bears v Gloucs 137-9

Do not take on George Garton's arm.

Matt Taylor is the latest to learn that lesson, admittedly trying to keep the strike for the last over.

Taylor drills to mid on, Garton picks up and throws down the stumps.

    One over to go.

  10. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 135-8

    Two overs to go.

Richard Gleeson will bowl this one, then maybe another from Zak Foulkes? Dan Mousley and George Garton are the other options.

It feels like 160 has to be the target for Gloucestershire.

  11. Postpublished at 17.4 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 130-8

    No hat-trick today.

A wide full toss is dabbed into the off side by David Payne.

  12. wicket

WICKET Shaw c Lintott b Foulkes 0published at 17.3 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 129-8

Zak Foulkes is on a hat-trick!!

Josh Shaw pulls towards the long boundary and gives Jake Lintott a very easy catch.

    Three for New Zealander Foulkes.

  13. ‘Right decision’published at 20:10 British Summer Time 6 September

    Bears v Glos 129-7

    Mike Taylor
    BBC WM commentator

He had to be pretty certain that was going to come to him.

He had to make a quick decision whether to stand his ground or try and take it on the move.

But it turned out to be the right decision.

    WICKET T Price c Benjamin b Foulkes 19published at 17.2 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 129-7

As soon as Tom Price made contact you could hear a massive groan.

He's gone to turn Zak Foulkes around the corner and just cloths in.

  15. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 128-6

Richard Gleeson only went for two in his first over.

He only goes for five in his third, while bowling in and around 90mph!

That pace beats Tom Price for pace a couple of times.

  16. ‘Chance for Price’published at 20:04 British Summer Time 6 September

    Bears v Glos 124-6

    Ed Seabourne
    BBC Radio Bristol

Really since the first over Bears have been so disciplined with the ball.

But what a chance here for Tom Price - this could be the making of him as a T20 player.

  17. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 104-6

It is go time now for Gloucestershire...it quite simply has to be.

Tom Price slog sweeps Jake Lintott down the ground for six having pinged a boundary from the previous ball.

  18. wicket

WICKET Bancroft run out (Garton) 43published at 15.2 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 112-6

    George GartonImage source, Getty Images

My word that is fielding to show the kids!

Tom Price splices one down the ground. George Garton gets around to it, swoops to pick it up and throws in one motion.

Cameron Bancroft wanted to get back for a second but umpire Steve O'Shaughnessy doesn't even send the direct hit upstairs - he was miles out!

    Gloucestershire's in batter is out.

  19. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 110-5

Gloucestershire's hopes of a competitive score largely depend on Cameron Bancroft teeing off.

But that is just another going nowhere over, with Dan Mousley restricting it to seven.

  20. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Bears v Gloucs 103-5

The regular wickets are really stemming any momentum Gloucestershire can build.

What can they get up to from here? 160 is a must, 180 is par?
