Nat Sciver-Brunt stepped up again. Some of the principles of cricket remain the same in any conditions. Better players come to the party as a collective - fielding well, catching well, bringing energy in the field, bowling tight lines and lengths.

Trent Rockets assessed really well today and did the business - and it's about now taking that to the next game and assessing quickly, making plans and executing them quickly.

This is the first loss for the London Spirit while chasing at Lord's in their last six attempts, while Trent Rockets go 5-0 against Spirit in the women's Hundred. They are the only team to be undefeated against the Spirit.

Trent Rockets will look back at this performance and they need to copy and paste this as a template.

Maybe not the first couple of overs as they were a bit messy, but something seemed to have been said and they got their act together.

Once the wickets started to fall the pieces of the puzzle started to fit together.

A first win of The Hundred for Trent Rockets this season!

And they have done it in the most convincing of ways.

London Spirit are bundled out for 116 while chasing a target of 150. They, meanwhile, suffer their first defeat of the campaign after falling short by some distance.

The Rockets started shakily, but once they got a couple of wickets they tightened the screws and they're finishing the game looking like a very professional outfit. It bodes well for them going forward.

Rockets are on the verge here.

This goes to show the value of partnerships. And you talk about players and their 'aura', fifty-odd not out for Bryony Smith - she made it look easy on this pitch. Everyone since has struggled.

  12. Spirit 112-8published at 10 balls left

    38 runs needed

A frustrating end to the spell for Heather Graham as Eva Gray edges her final delivery for a four.

There was a half chance for a catch at the start of that set as Gray went after Graham but the ball did not quite carry to the fielder at deep mid-wicket.

However, the Rockets bowlers ends with figure of 2-28.

The Rockets spinners have thoroughly outbowled their opponents today. They have generated a drift of 1.4 degrees and a turn of 2.7 degrees, compared to 1.0 degrees and 1.6 degrees respectively from the Spirit.

Heather Graham is back into the attack.

And Charli Knott steps down the track and slaps her third ball back over head to the boundary to take the Spirit's score past 100.

At least something to cheer about for the home side.

Such a tough position for Spirit to be now. Do you look to protect your net run rate or give it a go? I don't think they'll win, but if they give it a go and put some pressure on the bowlers and end up say ten short you never know.
