I can't remember ever watching a game with so many twists and turns, and with so many external factors.

Incredible. The rain has got harder and now the players are going off.

That wicket means Afghanistan are now three runs ahead on DLS.

This could be quite a short stoppage, though.

    BOWLED 'IM!

Slower ball from Naveen-ul-Haq and Taskin Ahmed drags it onto his stumps!

    Afghanistan are one wicket away.

  4. dropped catch

Litton dropped on 53published at 17.3 overs

    Need 9 from 9 balls

Litton Das hits the ball back at Naveen-ul-Haq but he can't cling on in his follow-through.

Is that the last chance for Afghanistan?

Brilliant fielding - that could have been a vital four at a crucial time. Every run will count if they go off for rain and it's decided by DLS.

  6. Ban 104-8published at 17.2 overs

    Need 10 from 10 balls

Diving stop down at deep third by Fazalhaq Farooqi to deny Taskin Ahmed a boundary.

The rain is falling again and Bangladesh are one ahead on DLS.

  7. Ban 103-8published at 17.1 overs

    Need 11 from 11 balls

Litton Das gets one to point from the first ball of the Naveen-ul-Haq over.

A run-a-ball will do it for Bangladesh - and Australia - from here.

They did initially, Confused, but seemed to give up on it far earlier than made sense to me.

What a curious game, why Bangladesh didn't come out swinging to knock off 115 in 12 overs to go through to the semis is utterly bizarre.

    Confused in Bristol

  10. Ban 102-8published at 17 overs

    Need 12 from 12 balls

Beauty from Gulbadin Naib to end the over.

It forces a play and miss from Taskin Ahmed and there's an appeal for caught behind.

Nothing doing and on we go. Litton Das is on strike.

  11. Ban 102-8published at 16.5 overs

    Need 12 from 13 balls

Dot ball. OK for Afghanistan but it's wickets they really need.

Litton has had to show some real grit here.

  13. Ban 102-8published at 16.4 overs

    Need 12 from 14 balls

    Nice shot by Taskin Ahmed.

Worked leg-side for a single and another for Litton Das next ball.

  14. Ban 100-8published at 16.2 overs

    Need 14 from 16 balls

Litton Das gives the strike back to Taskin Ahmed as Bangladesh edge ever close.

Another run close to Australia making the semi-finals.

  15. Ban 99-8published at 16.1 overs

    Need 15 from 17 balls

Leg-bye first ball and Litton Das is back on strike.

    Not what Afghanistan wanted.

    Crucially they retain their review.

  18. Not outpublished at 16 overs

    Ban 98-8

Close - but not close enough for Afghanistan.

A big stride from the diminutive Litton Das saves him. Impact and hitting the wickets are umpire's call so it stays not out.

Afghanistan at least keep him off strike.
