There's still a breeze blowing across the ground which is a worry because that could bring rain with it.

  3. Ban 36-3published at 4 overs

    Target 116

Soumya Sarkar clips the last ball of Fazalhaq Farooqi's over to deep mid-wicket for two.

A good over for Bangladesh, 12 from it either side of the rain delay.

Getting home in 12.1 overs is still a realistic possibility.

Afghanistan actually have nine bowling options! The keeper and Ibrahim Zadran, by my reckoning, are the only two who can't bowl.

  5. Ban 32-3published at 3.3 overs

    Target 116

Litton Das guides the ball to backward point for a single as the action gets back under way.

They say in Bangladesh that the tigers roar when their backs are against the wall.

The players are back out. We're ready to go with - weather permitting - some 16.4 overs still left in this match.

For Bangladesh, though, it is the next 8.5 that really matter.

It's still very doable for Bangladesh - they only need about 10 an over.

Still no overs lost so Bangladesh still need to get to 116 in 12.1 overs to progress to the semi-finals.

Afghanistan just need a win. Any win. Or an abandonment - which is 10 balls away from being ruled out as an option.

Australia need Bangladesh to win, but after 12.1 overs. This might all be working out nicely for the Aussies...

Good news, the rain has stopped and play will restart in 15 minutes' time.

Not that it matters until five overs of the innings have been bowled but apparently Bangladesh are a couple of runs ahead on DLS as things stand.

They need to be 35-3 to be ahead at five overs. Of course, another wicket changes that.

There is a very strong wind that may well help blow this rain through in St Vincent.

For now, the ground staff are still hammering the covers down.

Unless things clear up quickly, I think it is safe to assume we're going to start losing overs.

Once again we're in a situation where Afghanistan either want it to rain very hard and for a long, long time or stop immediately so as not to lose overs.

Bangladesh won't want a long delay either. Once we start losing overs, their chances of getting through get even smaller.

Arguably the team the showers help most is Australia. But they do need enough play for a completed match - and a Bangladesh win.

Goodness me! The drama of it all! We're continually kept guessing.

  15. Ban 31-3published at 3.2 overs

    Target 117

Uh oh. The rain is back and that lack of umbrellas has not fooled the umpires.

They tried to stay on but it has got heavier again now and the covers are coming on.

We're still 10 balls short of a completed match.

Nobody is putting up an umbrella in the crowd - it's as though they're trying to kid the umpires.

  17. Ban 29-3published at 3.1 overs

    Target 116

Bangladesh are going to keep going for it!

Soumya Sarkar whips Fazalhaq Farooqi high over mid-wicket. The ball drops short of the rope but gets there in the end after a few bounces.

Bangladesh have messed up the batting order - they've put in two players out of form and one guy who hasn't batted much. Throw a pinchhitter up the order!

That was a bit anti-climatic in the end, but what an over! Two huge wickets - the captain of Bangladesh and then Shakib!

  20. Ban 24-3published at 3 overs

    Target 116

No hat-trick for Naveen-ul-Haq as the ball slides off the outside half of Soumya Sarkar's bat for a single to deep third.

But what an over for Naveen and Afghanistan.

Bangladesh surely have to keep pushing to win in 12.1 overs, they're out regardless if they don't.
