More from Cox on what the game was like before the time-out: "Cricket is such a weird game. Having that time to think and talk for 30 seconds about going back to basics. It was a bad mistake from the Trent Rockets.

"It is about having time to think. The sets come so quickly so we picked a bowler and took them down.

"We have such an experienced line-up in this game. Sometimes you don't face a ball for 12 balls so it's about listening to each other and getting each other on strike."

  3. 'All we needed was one good over'published at 21:35 BST 21 August

Oval Invincibles batter Jordan Cox speaking on Sky Sports about what was said in the strategic time-out: "We just said that we needed one good over. And Sam [Curran] took down Sam [Cook]. It was unbelievable striking to put them under pressure."

On the pitch: "We thought it was an unbelievable wicket, and it did turn out to be. Once they started bowling into the wicket, we got hit both of us in the mid-riff. It was challenging but it was about taking the bowler on you fancied."

That was the fifth highest successful run chase in the history of the men's Hundred.

Spare a thought for Joe Root, who struck a sublime 76 from 41 balls but has to settle for being on the losing side!

  6. 'We want to come out on top'published at 21:26 BST 21 August

Oval Invincibles all-rounder Sam Curran speaking on Sky Sports: "The time-out came at the right time and we could reset and start again. We were both on 16 points coming into this game so we were really pleased to get the win.

"We knew that you need three or four sixes in this format and then suddenly we needed 70 from 30 balls. It was such a good game and the crowd here was amazing. A fantastic win."

On bowling on this pitch: "We knew Joe Root had batted well and George Linde at the end. We knew it was a good wicket and the way Jordan Cox batted too made it easier. We can do better with the ball but the way we chased was special."

On their batting order: "You don't always have all bases covered but we have been smart and selfless with our wickets. We are taking one game at a time and we are looking forward to Headingly.

"The schedule has been intense but winning keeps that momentum. We want to come top and it is a big advantage to prepare for the final but we aren't thinking too far ahead."

Another impressive outing boosts Jordan Cox's average in the Hundred to 51.81 - no men's batter has batted as frequently as Cox in a major T20 domestic league with a higher average than Cox's in the Hundred.

An unbelievable change of fortune for the Oval Invincibles. The crowd was electric here tonight.

Sam Curran's 54 from 24 deliveries was spectacular. The Trent Rockets had it to win and the Invincibles came from nowhere.

The game changed after 60 balls. Trent Rockets were in full control with the Invincibles 70-2, needing another 102 from 40 balls.

The win predictor gave the Invincibles a 9% chance of winning at that moment.

But David Willey called for the strategic timeout and that kicked the home side into life.

Sam Curran had seven from 12 balls before pummelling six sixes in his 22-ball fifty, Jordan Cox finished 58 not out from 32 and they sailed home with 11 balls to spare!

There is something of a Greek tragedy about this game. It felt like it was Trent Rockets' game from the start and now they look broken.

Cracking catch, but barely a celebration. Trent Rockets have been stunned into silence.

It absolutely flies out of the middle of Donovan Ferreira's bat but straight into Marcus Stoinis' hands at cover. I'm not sure anyone else saw the ball, it was struck so firmly.

There's a smile for Ben Sanderson, who has his first Hundred wicket, but Stoinis is stone-faced after his own bowling efforts.

The crowd are loving it out there. Donovan Ferreira joins the party.

It was short and clubbed into the stands. There is joy and laughter between him and Jordan Cox out there.

Remarkable striking from Cox. It was pace off and he sets early to guide it round. Great anticipation.

He liked that one as he nods back to Marcus Stoinis.

Trent Rockets are almost out of spin options which is what they want to be bowling at this stage. Cook and Willey have been taken down.

Do you go to Ben Sanderson?
