  2. Postpublished at 19:39 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 162-8

Just a 10 minute break between innings do not forget so do not spend too long getting a drink, letting the dog out etc, the Durham bowlers are already out on the surprisingly green looking September practice wickets, all set to resume in just a couple of minutes time.

  3. Did Durham get their batting order wrong or spot on?published at 19:38 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 162-8

Michael Jones (off to Lancs for next season remember) could be hot-footing up to the Grange tonight to open the batting against the Aussies tomorrow, but he was not allowed in until number eight. Jones finished the innings with 37* off 24 balls.

Ben Raine had that cracking first innings partnership at Taunton with Brydon Carse on Saturday morning. The latter got promoted up the order tonight but the former did not, he hit 23 off just eight balls! 287.50 by far the best strike-rate of the first innings.

Or was that a masterstroke from Ryan Campbell to have those two hitting against an older ball doing less in the later overs?

90-2 in the last seven overs!

  4. DURHAM SET SURREY 163 TO WINpublished at 20 overs

    Surrey v Durham 162-8

Four runs with the final ball from Nathan Sowter!

The second half of the Durham innings was hugely better than the first - they've posted 162 after a horror start - they were 36-4 at one point.

90 came off the final seven overs.

It certainly wasn't Chris Jordan's day with the ball, his four overs went for 57!

  5. Postpublished at 19.5 overs

    Surrey v Durham 158-8

Last ball incoming from Chris Jordan... it's a dot.

    Or is it?

    It's a no-ball and a free hit to finish!

    On we go!

  6. 'Really good knock'published at 19:29 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 154-8

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

A very bright and breezy 23, a really good knock that gave the Durham innings some impetus just when it was needed.

He only faced eight balls, it may not be enough but should at least make this game competitive.

  7. wicket

WICKET Raine run out 23published at 19.4 overs

    Surrey v Durham 153-7

Ben Raine's reign is over - run out by a cracking throw from Jamie Overton which was collected well on this occasion by Rory Burns.

But what a knock from Raine! 23 off just eight deliveries.

  8. 6 runs

    6-4-6

Ben Raine is in the mood! He carves Chris Jordan over cover for another maximum. Incredible shot and 150 up for Durham!

  9. Postpublished at 19.2 overs

    Surrey v Durham 147-7

Ben Raine takes four from the second ball - it may not have gone where he planned but he won't care!

  10. 6 runs

Six for Ben Rainepublished at 19:26 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 143-7

Smashed over long on by Ben Raine to start the final over in style!

  11. Postpublished at 19 overs

    Surrey v Durham 137-7

One over to go - can Durham get to 150?

Scoring has improved dramatically in recent overs.

Chris Jordan will bowl the final over.

  12. Postpublished at 18.5 overs

    Surrey v Durham 136-7

Ben Raine gets in on the act with a scoop down the ground which almost makes it all the way, but just bounces in field for four.

These are all excellent runs for Durham who were 69-6 at one stage.

  13. Postpublished at 18.3 overs

    Surrey v Durham 131-7

Ben Raine is now batting with Michael Jones, who hits Tom Curran for four with the first ball of the over.

    Make that back-to-back fours!

Curran responds with a full toss which Jones sends away for a single.

  14. 'Durham have hope'published at 19:20 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 121-7

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

He gave Durham a little bit of hope there.

    52 the partnership.

  15. wicket

WICKET de Leede b Curran 24published at 17.5 overs

    Surrey v Durham 121-7

    Partnership broken.

Important intervention from Sam Curran who bowls Bas de Leede to bring his impressive knock to an end just after the 50 partnership.

  16. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 17.2 overs

    Surrey v Durham 120-6

The Durham pair take a couple off Sam Curran with the first ball of the over.

Even better from Scotland's Michael Jones as he clubs the next ball for four!

Jones and Bas de Leede have now added 50 runs together - great work in the circumstances.

  17. 'Surrey have shunned spin'published at 19:17 British Summer Time 3 September

    Surrey v Durham 114-6

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

Surrey seem to have shunned spin this evening.

The Oval does usually turn at this time of year, but it is pretty green and still doing a bit here tonight.

It's been an all-pace attack so far.

  18. Postpublished at 17 overs

    Surrey v Durham 114-6

Jordan responds well with a couple of dots to end the over.

But Durham took 12 from the over and if they can keep doing that for the final three they will be pretty happy.

Michael Jones and Bas de Leede have put on 45 in 28 balls.

  19. Postpublished at 16.4 overs

    Surrey v Durham 114-6

    This is going to help!

Another four from Bas de Leede who is starting to go after Chris Jordan a bit.

Great hitting as De Leede goes up to 24 from 11 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 16.3 overs

    Surrey v Durham 110-6

Chris Jordan looks for the yorker but Bas de Leede plays it very nicely, angling the bat and sending the ball away for four at third man.

de Leede almost makes it back-to-back fours but this time it's stopped on the boundary.
