    Pak 12-1

    There's a bit of glove.

    As you were.

Well, it's two balls later, but England are looking at an lbw on Saim Ayub, who has missed a sweep.

    They don't seem that excited.

  4. Pak 10-1published at 2.2 overs

Two dots to start Moeen's over.

Last time, that resulted in a wicket.

    Steady, Babar...

We're all eagerly anticipating his bowling but Jofra's already given us a warm-up.

He added an entertaining cameo with the bat to close England's innings.

  6. Pak 10-1published at 2 overs

    Target 184

Make that two - although Jofra Archer chases this one down and restricts Babar to three.

Pure timing. The pace on the ball is suiting him a lot more.

  7. Pak 7-1published at 1.4 overs

The Babar Azam cover drive for four.

    What a treat.

  8. Pak 3-1published at 1.2 overs

Let's see if Babar Azam can have the freedom he needs. We want to see him able to express himself, so let's see if he and Saim Ayub can create a foundation for Pakistan.

  10. Pak 1-1published at 1 over

    Target 184

Babar Azam gets off the mark with a single and that is the only run from a perfect opening over from Moeen.

    Rizwan's had a shocker.

Moeen Ali tempted him, knows he wants to use his feet. He's coming out of his crease with confidence, but Rizwan fell straight into the trap.

    Rizwan c Livingstone b Moeen 0 (Pak 0-1)

Two dots and a wicket! The perfect start for England and Moeen Ali.

Rizwan takes a filthy hack at a good length ball from Moeen, swiping across the line, and it's straight into the hands of Liam Livingstone in at mid-wicket.

Skipper Babar Azam is in at three and under immediate pressure.

  13. Pak 0-0published at 0.1 overs

    Target 184

Mohammad Rizwan safely defends the first ball.

The players are making their way out to the middle as Pakistan begin their pursuit of 184.

The sun is still shining in Birmingham, so let's hope we're in for a cracker.

We'll have to wait a little bit for Jofra Archer, though. It's going to be Moeen Ali taking the first over.

England lost 5-25, and have ended up with what the commentators are saying is a par score.

There were quite a few mis-hits, errors in timing, which suggests that pace-off deliveries will be handy for England.

Seamer Shaheen Afridi was as entertaining as ever with 3-36, quick Haris Rauf recovered from an expensive start to take 2-34 and spinner Imad Wasim was excellent with 2-19.

There were cameos from Will Jacks (37 from 23) and Jonny Bairstow (21 from 18) to support Buttler, as England looked set for a huge total at 144-2 with five overs left.

But Pakistan's bowlers fought back brilliantly in the death overs...

    Cheers, Sam.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it? Plenty of runs, plenty of wickets, and we've got a cracking chase ahead of us.

Let's have a quick recap before it begins, starting with the best of Buttler.

England's skipper starts his summer with a glorious 84 from 51 balls.

England will certainly be slightly disappointed not to have go themselves up to 200 but it's runs on the board and Pakistan showed them what can happen if you hit the right areas.

To see how the England bowlers - Jofra Archer included - get on, I'll hand you over to Ffion Wynne.

The first half belonged to England, second to Pakistan, what a way to bring it back, anything under 200 is chaseable.

  20. Eng 183-7published at 20 overs

    Super finish from Mohammad Amir.

An inch-perfect yorker that Liam Livingstone can only jab down on to keep out. A dot ball.

Very useful late runs from Jofra Archer, though, after a fine knock from Jos Buttler has taken England to a useful total.
