Wood is bounding in, whistling a rapid bouncer past a hooking Holder. England appeal, the umpire says no, Stokes comes in to check, then decides against the review. Replays show a flick of the shoulder, so good decisions made all round.

Am I alone in thinking that lately Phil Tufnell has developed a look of Ronald Reagan about him?

Ooohhh, that's a slice of luck for Joshua da Silva. Bashir is getting some slow turn and Da Silva's swipe goes high into the off side, landing in a vacant slot of Birmingham real estate.

Jason Holder was almost in a baseball stance there, cause he said 'I know what's coming and I'm good enough to whack it!'.

Spin from one end, out and out and pace from the other. Mark Wood is round the wicket with a field set for short bowling. Da Silva tickles one fine for four, then Holder smears a boundary of his own. All of a sudden, it looks quite flat.

Our cricket game (Friendly) last Sunday was called off after the opposition decided about 8 overs into our run chase that they were going off the field to eat their takeaway that had just arrived and we couldn’t be bothered to wait around for them. Just wondering if anyone else has had a game called off for similar food related incidents?

It's clouded over in Birmingham. Bashir, slender, tip-toes in with chewing gum in his mouth. Da Silva goes back and turns one around the corner, just past Ollie Pope at leg slip. One added.

Ash Head: Wicket drought is on me, I'm afraid. Tuned in to BBC TMS just after the fifth wicket fell, only to endure two wicketless hours. I'll switch off again shortly.

I've done a bit more digging on the Flintstones after speaking to Oscar and Stan, pictured.

This may already be common knowledge, so apologies if this old hat to some of you, but apparently it's kind of an informal mini club where the common bond is dressing up as Flintstones characters and attending Test cricket.

"Not everybody knows each other personally," Oscar tells me. "But it's often a friend of a friend, and such alike. There's about 35 of us here today."

My wife keeps a running list on her phone of phrases used by cricket commentators which she will sprinkle into conversation. Despite her valiant and endearing efforts, she has still not quite mastered when to deploy each phrase: e.g. noting the "even coverage of green" on an absolute road, boldly proclaiming "I'd like to see a couple of short legs in there" during the new ball, or encouraging the batters to "get the brush out and sweep the spinners" amidst a hostile spell of fast bowling.

We've only been together 37 years so perhaps no surprise I'd not found a way to entice my wife to Lord's. Finally did it last week. Said I had tickets to an 'open air theatrical experience near Regent's Park.' And so we saw England v New Zealand T20. She says she's hooked and looking forward to the next one in 2061. 27 overs in that session - don't get me started on over rates - England have two wickets and the West Indies have added 97 runs.

The sixth-wicket partnership between Joshua Da Silva and Jason Holder is worth 79, and England will spend the next 20 minutes scratching their collective heads.
