Such a lovely languid striker of the ball, Jason Holder.

He's got this lovely backlift and as soon as the ball is up there, he's got no qualms about just throwing his hands through the line of it, comes right out of the middle out of that big bat.

    You'd imagine it's a long handle.

Obsessive about pads, coffee or caramel, Tim?

But yes, I agree. They are definitely at the Caramac end of the pad colour scale.

Is it just me that's totally thrown by the colour of Jason holders pads? They are almost coffee or caramel. I may be a tad obsessive.

Holder makes it look so easy at times. In this battle between the two former Worcestershire players, Holder is very much on top. A boundary to end the Bashir over.

My wife bought me tickets to Day 3 of the Headingley Test v Sri Lanka in 2016. She didn't have a clue what was going on, couldn't understand why leaving the ball was OK, and every time there was a play and a miss she'd comment "oh that's not very good". All the while moaning she couldn't see the ball. And it rained, I think we lost 3 hrs of play. But England won the match later on that day, and it was great to be there with her. Even if she still reminds me of her sacrifice that day!!!

Around the wicket and dig it in to the right hander. Surely no proper batter is falling for that?

Just kidding, Daryl. Lovely to have you with us - even if your hand has been forced. Hard lines, but something is better than nothing. Plus you've got the sea.

On a sun lounger at the beach on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia and managed to listen to an hour of TMS commentary before my phone realised I wasn’t in the UK and stopped the live feed. Back to checking the text commentary now - having to alternate views between the Adriatic Sea and the BBC!

That was clean, yeah. You can tell the ball before the bat turned in his hand, he didn't quite get it.

He might have been slightly nervous but he stands there, he plants his front foot directly down the pitch and admires it, as soon as he hit that there was a big crunch off the bat.

Mark Wood klaxon, and he's coming around the wicket to Josh Da Silva.

However, Holder does get a piece of the next two.

The first one wasn't a clean strike but mid-on is up and Holder gets away with it.

But the second is as clean a strike as you will see. Six runs, and with it a shot of cricketing caffeine for us all.

Well, well, well. After a sedate hour or two, Jason Holder tries to hit Shoaib Bashir into Wolverhampton. Doesn't get hold of it, though.

The bluff comes when Atkinson pitches one up to Holder. Does it bring a wicket? Nope. Three runs...not quite timed by Holder.

I'd say they definitely did Christian. Based on the dates you've given me, you definitely saw some glory years. Plus, I think the good times are returning down at Hove. A very impressive squad and an excellent T20 campaign (so far). I had the pleasure of chatting to Daniel Hughes yesterday - what a signing, btw - and he was full of praise for many of the youngsters. He did say Oli Carter was a little bit too perky on late night bus trips home, though!

Met my future wife in Feb 1991, she was a Dutch student on an exchange programme with Plymouth Polytechnic. She returned to Amsterdam in the summer, and for the next year we had a largely long-distance relationship, before she moved to the UK. We were recently re-reading the hundreds of letters we exchanged over that period. In among the embarrassing soppy stuff, one theme came through - how she was working her way through a book on cricket, learning about googlies, yorkers and the like, and watching the England - Windies test series, to see the theory applied in practice. So in her case, the non-cricketer made a special effort to become a cricket follower. She now accompanies me to Sussex games, so not sure if she would say things worked out well.

James Anderson might have played his swansong at Lord's earlier in the series. But there is still plenty of love for the legendary England seamer from supporters. Including this group from Derby who were keen to pay homage to their hero.

A little paddle for Jason Holder brings him a boundary. Nice shot. It moves Holder into the 20s and brings up the half-century stand. Just what the West Indies ordered.

Just driven from Suffolk to the south of Portugal with TMS on the car radio all the way for 3 days. Before the journey my wife and two children had no idea about cricket. Now they are well versed in the laws of LBW and the use of the review system. Easy win, guys!

Holder happy enough to drop the hands and let red-leather whistle by. He's too savvy to fall for this. Surely he is too savvy?
