India victory secured after Rahul hits six to reach final

  1. Aus 105-2published at 21.1 overs

It's nearly another bowling change masterstroke from Rohit Sharma. Marnus Labuschagne wafts at a wider delivery and narrowly avoids edging through to KL Rahul. His bat was millimetres away from the ball.

Rohit Sharma has decided to go back to pace, with Mohammed Shami returning to the attack. Interesting...

Very well bowled from Ravindra Jadeja.

  4. Aus 105-2published at 21 overs

Another Ravindra Jadeja over whooshes by, even with a brief pause for a cuddle with Marnus Labuschagne at the non-striker's end.

    No runs from it.

Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are going to bat like this for the next 30 overs if they can. India are bowling very nicely.

It's been a nice game to watch.

  6. 6 runs

    Aus 105-2published at 20 overs

    Smith 36 (47), Labuschagne 24 (31)

Marnus Labuschagne launches Axar Patel for six

100 up for Australia at the 20-over mark and Marnus Labuschagne takes them there in style, sweeping Axar Patel for six.

  7. Aus 99-2published at 19.3 over

Luck continues to go Australia's way.

It's an ugly shot from Marnus Labuschagne as he tries to free his arms. He skies the ball high into the air but it plops safely into an empty outfield.

    Australia pick up two.

Steve Smith's ability to manipulate the field is a different level. Marnus Labuschagne has been struggling to play against the spinners.

At the moment, Steve Smith is making batting look very easy.

  10. Aus 96-2published at 19 overs

Steve Smith is timing the ball well and manipulates India's field to pick up a pair of twos and a single. The chip over midwicket, which brings a couple of runs, is delicious.

  11. Aus 91-2published at 18 overs

Axar Patel is back on the field and stays in the attack. He still looks in some discomfort.

Marnus Labuschagne collects Australia's first boundary since the 10th over, dabbing the ball through the vacant slip region for four. It's excellent awareness of where India's fielders are (or, crucially, aren't) from Australia's batters.

Australia don't want to leave too much to do at the end.

  13. Aus 83-2published at 17 overs

Does anyone get through their overs faster than Ravindra Jadeja? Blink and you'll miss him.

Marnus Labuschagne eats up four dot balls before trading singles with Steve Smith. It's far too early to panic about Australia's run rate, however. They're on course for 272.

I think anything above 260 will be good for Australia.

  16. Aus 82-2published at 16 overs

Axar Patel concedes two single off the final two balls of his fourth over. He doesn't look comfortable, however, and immediately leaves the field.

While we wait for play to get back under way, here's a reminder of the two Australian wickets to fall.

With how dry the wicket is, I'm not surprised that Australia batted first, that's their best bet. India's biggest threat are their spinners. It's so hard to chase them with their two left arm spinners.

Word from those who have been out in the middle is that the pitch is remarkably dry. Expect run-scoring to get harder and harder as the day goes on, assuming the dew stays away.

Dew hasn't really been a factor in matches here so far.

  20. Aus 80-2published at 15.4 overs

India bowler Axar Patel is receiving some on-field treatment after an awkward tumble. It looks like he landed quite heavily on his left shoulder/neck.

    The umpires call for drinks.
