It's that stage of the game where as the ball wears slightly, the ball starts to grip more and more. India, having played here three times already, will be used to this.

  2. Aus 76-2published at 15 overs

Australia are leading something of a charmed life at the moment. This time, it's Marnus Labuschagne who nearly chops onto his stumps.

Still, both batters survive and with some sensible strike rotation, they add four runs to Australia's total.

India are already onto bowler number six. Into the attack comes Ravindra Jadeja.

A heart in mouth moment for Steve Smith at the end of a maiden over from Axar Patel.

He comes down to the spinner, gets an inside edge onto his pads, and the ball bobbles gently into the stumps. No real danger of the bails being dislodged, however.

For the third over in a row, Australia are content to pick up three singles. Steve Smith, cap on his head, and Marnus Labuschagne are ticking along.

Ominously for Australia, the last 14 times that India have taken two wickets (or more) in the first powerplay, they have won 13.

I think 280 is going to be a very good score on this surface.

  8. Aus 69-2published at 12 overs

    Three more singles for Australia.

  9. Aus 66-2published at 11 overs

Varun Chakravarthy is proving a real handful. He's mixing up his deliveries nicely, with a very satisfying yorker to Steve Smith the highlight of the over.

    Australia pick up three singles.

There may be a bit of dew later which would make it awkward for Australia's bowlers.

Pancakes for breakfast, Shreya? I'm quite envious.

We were always a pancakes for tea household growing up.

I was already running late to work because of pancake day chaos with the children this morning, and now fatally late because I am glued to the cricket!

I can't say anyone's ahead after ten overs but this wicket isn't the best. Travis Head was the key for me though.

I'd say both sides will be fairly happy with how the first 10 overs have panned out.

India have picked up two wickets, including getting rid of Travis Head for 39 (33).

Australia have 63 runs on the board and Steve Smith is looking settled.

It's been a really back and forwards game already.

  16. Aus 62-2published at 9.2 overs

You could be forgiven for thinking Australia's scoring would slow down following Travis Head's exit.

Steve Smith, however, has other plans, taking Axar Patel - India's fifth bowler of the powerplay - over mid-on for four. He dances down to the next ball, too, but ends up defending. Good intent.

Travis Head is always such a deflating wicket for Australia because he can score so much, so quickly.

  18. Aus 58-2published at 9 overs

A big over for India, with Travis Head back in the changing room.

Marnus Labuschagne starts with a tentative prod before rotating the strike a couple of times with Steve Smith.

You can see how much that wicket means to India.

What a breakthrough for India. Travis Head was looking so dangerous, Varun Chakravarthy can't stop taking wickets in Dubai. India are roaring back into this semi-final.
