I'm not going to say that India have been cruising. We've not seen any spin yet and that will be important here.

  2. Ind 42-1published at 7 overs

    Target 265

India take four singles off Ben Dwarshuis' fourth over.

Meanwhile, at square leg, Chris Gaffaney has his hands on his hips and a grim expression. He's probably waiting for his life to stop flashing before his eyes.

Goodness me that was hit firmly. It's hit straight as straight can be and nearly took out the umpire.

  4. Ind 39-1published at 6 overs

    Target 265

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma trade singles against Nathan Ellis before Rohit decides to cut loose and pumps a four straight down the ground.

Excellent reactions from umpire Chris Gaffaney, who slams himself onto the floor. That was coming at head height. Giggles all round.

There are still people wandering up to the stadium out the back. They might want to get a shift on.

Are the semi-final nerves kicking in for India?

This is a pitch where you can get an inside edge, it's a soft dismissal. Why would you play a shot like that? If you have so many shots you can play and you're such a good talent, why go for that shot?

    Gill b Dwarshuis 8 (Ind 30-1)

    Australia have their breakthrough!

They've dropped two catches, they've seen the ball whistle past the stumps, but finally, the umpire's finger goes up. It's not Rohit Sharma, but they'll be very happy to see the back of Shubman Gill for just eight.

It's a poor dismissal, with a big edge diverting the ball onto his stumps.

You expect this form Rohit Sharma, trying to sweep a fast bowler. The shot was definitely on.

  10. Ind 29-0published at 4.4 overs

Another over, another piece of good fortune for Rohit Sharma.

He goes to sweep Ben Dwarshuis but ends up bottom-edging the ball past his stumps. Josh Inglis is completely wrong-footed with the gloves and it runs away for four.

  11. Ind 24-0published at 4.1 overs

Shubman Gill finally connects with one, bludgeoning Ben Dwarshuis past mid-on for his first four of the day.

  12. Ind 17-0published at 4 overs

    Target 265

Ooooh, I think I'll be asking Rohit Sharma for the lottery numbers based on his luck today.

Nathan Ellis' fourth delivery is a corker and whistles past Rohit's outside edge and through to the keeper.

    Two runs from the over.

It was tough but he'd done all the hard work by getting his hands to it. You thought he'd then balance himself somehow.

  14. dropped catch

Rohit dropped on 14published at 3 overs

    Ind 17-0

Another life for Rohit Sharma. Lucky guy.

It's a tough chance for Marnus Labuschagne, who charges from mid-off and puts in the dive. He gets two hands to it but can't hold on. It willl definitely go down as a drop.

It was a good over from Ben Dwarshuis, who mixed up his length nicely to frustrate Shubman Gill, and he should have been rewarded with a wicket.

Every run is going to be cheered here until India have got to their target or they are bowled out.

I can see one Australia shirt in the crowd away to my left. The rest is very blue.

It's a pitch where you can chop on - I say that because Shubman Gill is such a correct player.

  17. Ind 15-0published at 2 overs

Rohit Sharma and India are flying.

Australia cannot afford to give up chances like that.

Cooper Connolly's miserable day gets worse... he got a nine-ball duck earlier too!

  19. dropped catch

Rohit dropped on 13published at 1.3 overs

    Ind 13-0

Cooper Connolly has dropped Rohit Sharma at backward point! He's having an awful day.

One ball after bashing Nathan Ellis for six, Rohit is handed an early lifeline. He absolutely hacks an ugly cut low to Connolly and he really should have clung on to that.

Not the smartest bowling from Nathan Ellis, feeding Rohit's pull - the Indian skipper has scored 1435 runs in ODI cricket with that stroke, the most productive shot in the format since records began
