Nathan Ellis knows there is only one over left, so he has to have a swing. His bat twisted in his hands as he made connection.

Virat Kohli was not dropping that in a month of Sundays.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 49 overs

    Ellis c Kohli b Shami 10 (Aus 262-8)

    Six and out.

Nathan Ellis tries again, but gets it too straight and Virat Kohli takes a simple catch at long-on.

With all the talk surrounding the spinners, Mohammed Shami finishes a fine spell of 3-48.

  4. 6 runs

    Aus 262-8published at 48.5 overs

    Hello!

Mohammed Shami attempts a slower ball but it sits up nicely for Nathan Ellis to swipe over mid-wicket for six precious runs.

  5. Aus 252-8published at 48 overs

    Excellent over from Hardik Pandya.

India have closed out the innings expertly so far.

Outstanding fielding from Shreyas Iyer. It felt like there were two runs there, but there was a slight hesitation.

The perfect throw came in to finish Carey off. That was the killer.

Adam Zampa is given out lbw on the field, but sends it upstairs for a review.

It was given very quickly. Has he hit it?

Brilliant batting from Alex Carey. A few batters have tried to play that shot today and not made the boundary but Carey got the pace of it.

He is timing it so nicely out there. It makes you think as a bowler about trying to do things little bit differently.

  12. Aus 246-7published at 46.3 overs

    Lovely.

Alex Carey makes the most of the extra pace on the ball from Mohammed Shami, and ramps over the keeper for four.

Spin has been incredibly effective for India so scoring has been fairly low.

At one stage, Australia were on for nearly 300. They need to be going at nine an over from here to really put something good on the board.

  14. Aus 242-7published at 46 overs

    Alex Carey has played brilliantly.

He's got four overs left to make it a match-winning knock.

Dwarshuis had to be the one to take the risk, he had to try and clear the boundary but it is a big old heave needed to get there.

He picked out the fielder perfectly with that slog sweep.

    Well, he tried.

Ben Dwarshuis actually connects pretty well with his slog sweep but Shreyas Iyer is perfectly placed to take a simple catch.

The expectation is all on Alex Carey, now.

A flurry of singles from Shami's eighth over.

Pressure is building, with boundaries hard to come by.

There's lots of chat about conditions, but there's not been huge turn. An average of 2.5 degrees of turn for the spinners is the lowest for any match in Dubai this tournament.

Australia would have taken 260 at the beginning of this match but India have a fantastic chasing side.

I cannot stress enough how different these pitches have been in Dubai. Every single game has been different.
