So it remains very much India's day.

They were 75-2 overnight, 189-3 at lunch, and they're still batting on at tea, with Washington Sundar still to come.

  3. Tea - Ind 304-6published at 71 overs

    Jadeja 26, Jurel 25

Dhruv Jurel adds another two boundaries to his individual tally, driving Josh Tongue down the ground for four before pulling the next ball square.

A hard chase from Harry Brook prevents a third but it's an expensive over.

13 runs from it and 300 up for India, who are 304-6 and leading by 281 runs at tea.

Plenty to ponder at the break for England.

Looking a bit weary, England. They can't wait for tea. Those long sessions do drag on in the field.

  5. Ind 291-6published at 70 overs

Joe Root replaces Gus Atkinson and is immediately thumped for four by Dhruv Jurel. Root looks cross.

India pick up three singles from the rest of the over.

Atkinson traps Gill lbw with first ball after lunch

Gus Atkinson bowled a seven-over spell earlier this session with an average speed of 84.5 mph, only a slight drop off from his average speed of 85.6 mph in his opening session of the Test match.

Impressive consistency in speed considering he's bowled in all but one session of this Test match so far.

  7. Ind 284-6published at 69 overs

Ravindra Jadeja and Dhruv Jurel exchange singles at the end of the 69th over, bowled by Josh Tongue.

India's run rate is hovering just above four.

  8. Ind 282-6published at 68 overs

Lovely shot. Dhruv Jurel pounces on a wide delivery from Gus Atkinson and cuts it away for four. His first boundary of the innings.

Ravindra Jadeja is lacing his boot back up. He's okay to continue.

15 minutes to go until tea.

It kind of looks alright, but Kumar Dharmasena took an age!

The length of time he gave that - you could see the cogs working in his mind.

When you get that delay from the umpire there is usually a bit of a doubt.

If Ravindra Jadeja was a size five he would have probably been out.

Jadeja overturns lbw decision on review

An excellent review by Ravindra Jadeja.

It hit the batter on the toes of his right foot but the impact is outside the line. Jadeja is down on the ground and receiving treatment with his shoe off.

Ravindra Jadeja is given out lbw.

Josh Tongue was certain and all of the England fielders went up. Kumar Dharmasena took his time to raise his finger. India have reviewed.

India have inched their way into a pretty good position.

You still feel England are a long way from bowling them out.

The pace is still good from Atkinson for a guy in his 22nd over.

  15. Ind 276-6published at 66 overs

Dhruv Jurel was desperate to get off the mark.

Third ball of the over, he sets off for a single but is sent back by Ravindra Jadeja as Ben Duckett swarms the ball. Duckett's throw misses and Jurel, with a well-executed dive, would have been safe. He gets his run off the next ball.

Three singles, three dots in total.

  16. Ind 273-6published at 65 overs

    India lead by 250 runs

India's lead is up to 250 and despite being six down, they've still got Washington Sundar to come.

It is a poor shot. Jaiswal is in disgust that he has hit the only man there.

He has played brilliantly for his 118.

Just when you felt like the next 15 overs were India's opportunity, England have picked up a wicket. The lead is a good one but it is not match-winning.

Yashasvi Jaiswal targets the boundary but picks out Jamie Overton at backward point to bring his excellent knock to an end. It's a good catch from the fielder, getting down low.

England have clung onto one and have a breakthrough with a little over half an hour to go before tea.

Anything over 300 would require a great chase. The Headingley pitch, where England chased 371 in the first Test, was flatter than this one.
