A gift from Prasidh Krishna and Ben Duckett collects the first boundary of England's chase, flicking the ball into the leg side off his hips.

And it's followed by four more. England are into double figures.

Though this would be a record chase at The Oval, big runs have been made in recent fourth innings on this ground. These are the past seven fourth-innings total here with those in bold being the victories. None have been as large as England's target here, however.

Was there bat on that? It was definitely in the business end. That ball moved.

  4. Eng 1-0published at 1 over

    Target 374

Ooooooh India are very interested in an lbw shout against Ben Duckett who is struck high on his pad. Too high, I think?

They opt against the review but expect plenty of enthusiastic appealing over the next hour or so.

  5. Eng 1-0published at 0.2 overs

    Target 374

Zak Crawley gets England off the mark with a single. It's struck so crisply through cover that you expect it to run away to the rope but there's a fielder lurking in the deep.

Akash Deep is going to be fired up - he just scored his top score in Test cricket. A chance for him to do what he does. Get through and get that ball moving early.

Right, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett are out in the middle. Akash Deep will open the bowling for India.

    England need 374 to win.

WinViz is backing India but it's worth remembering that Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley smacked 92 runs off 12.5 overs in England's first innings.

First of all, that took some catching. With the way England have caught through this innings, your heart was in your mouth and the crowd was nervous as Ollie Pope and Zak Crawley collided.

I do feel India's bowling attack, out of the two, has been a bit more consistent.

England will fancy their chances with the way they go about their approach. They will not be fearful of this score.

Play can go until 19:00 BST tonight. England will have more than an hour to face with the bat.

Will they dig in and cautiously play their way through? Pffft. I doubt it.

India have hit 470 boundaries in this series - the most by any side in any series ever.

If England are going to win this they will have to make their second-highest chase in Test history.

The good omen? Their best two chases have been made against India in the past three years.

Josh Tongue can do one better than denying Washington Sundar the strike. He can dismiss him. Sundar skies a catch into the leg side where Zak Crawley clings on, despite colliding with Ollie Pope as he takes it.

Josh Tongue finishes with five wickets. England will need 374 to win the series.
