Smith run out (Perry/ Mooney) 1 (Eng 82-9)

Good dive from Linsey Smith but not good enough.

It was excellent from Ellyse Perry in the covers and the throw was on the money too.

Beth Mooney took it and whipped off the bails with Smith just short of her ground.

Good news, England fans, it's nearly over...

    Have Australia got another one?

It's a run out this time after a great stop in the covers means Linsey Smith has to turn back.

She puts in the dive but has she done enough to get back?

    Target 163

Brilliant fielding from Darcie Brown to save a couple of runs as Linsey Smith is beaten on the inside edge by Megan Schutt.

Somehow the ball misses off stump and is running away for four byes but Brown sprints after it and flicks the ball back about a centimetre short of the rope.

Even the newbie in this side takes an absolute screamer. This Australia side can do no wrong in this series. They have had so many moments of brilliance and that right there is another one.

I cannot explain how in control of this game they are.

    Ecclestone c Voll b Schutt 5 (Eng 77-8)

    What a catch!

Width from Megan Schutt and Sophie Ecclestone hits it firmly square on the off side.

It looks to be spinning away for four but no, Georgia Voll leaps to her right from backward point to hold onto a magnificent catch.

A frustrated England captain is doing all that she can.

Phoebe Litchfield just timed her jump slightly wrong there. She could see the rope out the corner of her eye and got slightly distracted.

Heather Knight sweeps Alana King for four early in the over and then skips down to hit high over long off... six!

Something to cheer for England. Well, maybe not in this position but it's something a bit more positive at least.

The Australia girls in the middle must be laughing their heads off. England have embarassed themselves tonight.

  12. Eng 57-7published at 12 overs

    Target 163

After Darcie Brown helps England out with a couple of wides, Sophie Ecclestone launches the ball high into the leg side.

It lands safely and Heather Knight is convinced there is two there, Ecclestone disagrees and they have to stick to one.

The tourists aren't able to extend their lead over Beth Mooney in the 'twos ran in the series' competition.

There have been so many moments in this game when you are thinking 'What on earth is going on?'

There's been a difference in innings today. Australia barely played a sweep shot. They found gaps and got into the game where England just haven't at all.

Australia have been so vastly, imperiously superior to England in this series. The self flagellation from the England fans has I think been totally justified, because some of the approach and mentality has been really poor. Ben Stokes can afford to look relaxed and have a bit of a joke precisely because of his relentless preparation (despite the odd obsession from some about him playing golf) and this team simply cannot get away with emulating that approach. You’d argue they deserve all they’re currently getting.

Georgia Wareham was in prime position. It lingered for eternity but she just couldn't keep hold of it when it came down.

That would have wrapped things up for England.

  18. dropped catch

    Eng 52-7

Australia show they are human after all as Georgia Wareham puts down something of a sitter at deep mid-wicket.

Sophie Ecclestone heaves Annabel Sutherland leg side, it really should be the eighth wicket but remarkably Wareham shells it.

    I can't imagine it'll prove too costly...

I feel sorry for Heather Knight. Really sorry for her.

She has tried her heart out, she has led well. And yet it just hasn't worked out for England.

That seems a long way off, Kieran...

Georgia Wareham gets through another fantastic over.

Sophie Ecclestone is there with Heather Knight now and, for the overly optimistic England fans among you, the tourists need 113 from 66 balls to win.
