Summary

  1. Aus 85-5published at 24 overs

The Junction Oval is, of course, where a certain Shane Keith Warne made his first-class debut for Victoria. There's a stand named after the late great former Australia leg-spinner.

Alana King is spinning a web Warne would doubtless approve of.

That's a huge wicket! Australia are back in this game.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 22.2 overs

    Sciver-Brunt c Litchfield b King 35 (Eng 84-5)

Another leading edge, and this is the big wicket for Australia.

Nat Sciver-Brunt leans forward and tries to work the ball to the leg side, but she's undone by the spin and the ball takes the side of the bat yet again.

Phoebe Litchfield claims a comfortable catch. England in trouble.

Australia's fielders are doing a really good job at supporting the bowlers here, they are restricting England to single runs and dot balls.

  6. Eng 82-4published at 22 overs

    Target 181

Bit of a swat from Amy Jones to Ash Gardner and an inside edge races away to fine leg. It looks destined to reach the rope but Kim Garth produces a fine diving stop to cut it off.

    England need double digits now.

This illustrates just how England's run-rate has plateaued since those quick wickets.

The problem at the minute is that England are struggling to find a way to score, there's a lot of dot balls. They need to find a way to get the game moving.

  9. Eng 78-4published at 21 overs

    Target 181

Alana King gives it a bit of air to Amy Jones, dangling the carrot to the England wicketekeeper. Jones likes to play her shots but plays largely within herself here.

A single apiece to Nat Sciver-Brunt and Jones off that over.

There has been a lot of chat about Alana King's potential impact on this game given how the English spinners fared but Nat Sciver-Brunt has a good record against her.

    Sciver-Brunt v King: eight innings, no dismissals, 157 runs off 160 balls, strike-rate 98.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is happy to stay in her crease here, she wants to play off the back foot. She looks the most comfortable of the batters playing against spin here.

  12. Eng 76-4published at 20 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt keeps nudging and nurdling the ball around into the gaps. England's scoring rate the past few overs has really dropped off, though. Nip and tuck at the moment.

Alana King is bowling really well here.

This is the mental battle that cricket is. England just need one good partnership here but can they deal with the pressure of losing those wickets.

  15. Eng 75-4published at 19 overs

Every ball is an event now for Alana King as she manufactures a bit of theatre with her 'oohs' and 'ahhs'. Lots of encouragement from Alyssa Healy behind the stumps.

The penultimate delivery of King's second over, to Amy Jones, is an absolute jaffa. It turns, bounces and skips beyond the outside edge.

King has her head in her hands.

It's 59-41 to England on WinViz after that Wyatt-Hodge dismissal. It was 83-17 before Heather Knight's dismissal.

  17. Eng 74-4published at 18 overs

Ash Gardner rattles through five dots in her over to keep the pressure on England. A lot on Nat Sciver-Brunt's shoulders now.

    Amy Jones the new batter.

A big breakthrough for Australia, Danni Wyatt-Hodge goes for a duck. Consecutive breakthroughs for Australia, a turning point for the series.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17 overs

    Wyatt-Hodge b King 0 (Eng 73-4)

A golden duck for Danni Wyatt-Hodge as she is cleaned up by a lovely leggie from Alana King.

The England batter plays down the wrong line to one which spins past the outside edge of her defensive prod and bowls her.

    England are wobbling here.
