Looked pretty out. I still would have reviewed it if I was her. Not much batting to come. Brilliant stuff from Grace Ballinger. Holding her lines, a feature of the Superchargers bowling so far. Keeping it nice and straight and making the batters change the game plan.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 65 balls

    Redmayne lbw b Ballinger 29 (Spirit 54-6)

    Well, there goes Georgia Redmayne....

The opener goes for a slog sweep square and is struck on the thigh on her kneeling leg by Grace Ballinger, bang in front.

You'd think she might review, given the situation Spirit are in, but that's too out to bother.

Ballinger is done with figures of 2-12 - an excellent afternoon for her.

    Evans c Bairstow b Singh Dale 9 (Brave 63-4)

    Jack Skelton

Not a shot Laurie Evans will want to watch back.

The Brave batter sets himself early for the ramp shot over the wicketkeeper's head but makes a hash of it, just sending a thin tickle through to a grateful Jonny Bairstow.

    Doesn't look like being a high-scoring match at a green-tinged Sophia Gardens.

Matt Henry has bowled his 20 balls for just five runs and picked up two wickets - this is the second most economical spell in the men's Hundred - among bowlers who bowled full quota of 20 balls - after Spencer Johnson's three wickets for one run in 20 balls against Manchester Originals in 2023.

  5. Spirit 52-5published at 60 balls

Linsey Smith back into the attack.

The Spirit batters work her around for four singles, with the second bringing up their team's 50 from 58 balls.

Australian opener Georgia Redmayne is on 28 from 26 balls, and most of Spirit's hopes rest with her, although Issy Wong can swing big when the mood takes her.

  6. Spirit 48-5published at 55 balls

Issy Wong survives the hat-trick ball.

Swinging in from Nicola Carey, strikes the pads but does too much - that'd be passing the leg stump.

An appeal from the bowler, but you can see her heart isn't really in it.

Going from bad to worse for the Spirit. What a catch from Alice Davidson-Richards, low to her right. Even the bowler can't believe it.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 54 balls

    Gibson c Davidson-Richards b Carey 0 (Spirit 48-5)

    Two in two!

Dani Gibson goes first ball, cutting straight to Alice Davidson-Richards at backward point.

    Nicola Carey on a hat-trick...

Brilliant stuff from Northern Superchargers. That is a massive wicket. Grace Harris got a fair amount of that as she tried to hit it down the ground. Brilliant fielding, caught just above the head. The Superchargers keep charging forward.

  10. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 53 balls

    Harris c Sutherland b Carey 7 (Spirit 48-4)

    Grace Harris goes!

That's a massive blow to London Spirit's chances.

The big-hitting Australian is out before she got to hammer more than one big shot - firing Nicola Carey's delivery out to Annabel Sutherland at long-on.

A crucial partnership here for the London Spirit.

  12. Spirit 45-3published at 50 balls

A third four for Georgia Redmayne, guiding Linsey Smith through a gap at point with a cut shot.

Grace Harris then faces a couple of dot balls before getting off strike with a single square.

  13. wicket

Brave lose third wicket against Firepublished at Fire v Brave

    Coles c Smith b Walter 14 (Brave 39-3)

    Jack Skelton
    BBC Sport

James' Vince and Coles had started to pick up the pace for Brave but the latter now goes.

Coles is foxed by a wide slower ball from tall Paul Walter and skies it straight up. Steve Smith steadies himself under it at mid-off and safely snaffles it.

Brilliant strike from Grace Harris. Annabel Sutherland hasn't done much wrong there, pitching it up. Full face of the bat from Harris. What a way to get off the mark.

  15. Spirit 40-3published at 45 balls

That's what Grace Harris can do.

She smacks Annabel Sutherland's penultimate ball past the bowler's head for four.

    A catching chance?

Sutherland would need remarkable reaction speed to get anywhere near that.

Charli Knott had to get a move on there with Grace Harris in the dugout. A really good start from the Northern Superchargers. Really tight bowling from Annabel Sutherland, not giving the batter any width. Knott struck it well.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 42 balls

    Knott c Cross b Sutherland 11 (Spirit 34-3)

Well, that might ultimately be a blessing for London Spirit.

It was a hit out or get out scenario for Charli Knott with Grace Harris waiting and not much on the scoreboard, and she ended up doing the latter.

She punches the ball out to long-on, and Kate Cross runs in from the rope to take the catch.

You can feel the batters itching here. It's very hard to maintain your clarity when you're being held down like this.

  19. Spirit 33-2published at 40 balls

Charli Knott goes for a big cross-batted swipe off Nicola Carey and top-edges over the bowler's head.

Kate Cross scrambles at mid-off but it lands just clear.

Three singles from the set - very quiet.

Good cricket from Charli Knott. She's just releasing the shackles. Not much spin from Linsey Smith, so some good footwork. Hit straight down the ground.
