  1. NZ 129-9published at 40 overs

A crumb of comfort for New Zealand as Jess Kerr heaves Charlie Dean's first ball for four through mid-on, before almost seeing herself caught by a diving Maia Bouchier at mid-wicket.

Kerr takes a single, leaving Jonas to see off the final four balls of Dean's spell for no score.

The England all-rounder finishes with figures of 2-35.

I'm not going to lie, the batting has been woeful.

  3. NZ 124-9published at 39 overs

Fran Jonas survives the final ball of the over.

Double wicket maiden, as you do.

Terrific stuff from Sophie Ecclestone. New Zealand have no answer.

    Penfold b Ecclestone 0 (NZ 124-9)

    Five-fer for Ecclestone!

Four wickets down without scoring for New Zealand as England's superstar knocks over the stumps of new batter Molly Penfold.

Having gone rather slowly initially, this innings is ending rather rapidly.

This is a monumental collapse and failure with the bat for New Zealand.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 38.2 overs

    Gaze c Sciver-Brunt b Ecclestone 0 (NZ 124-8)

    And another one goes!

Gaze punches Ecclestone straight to Nat Sciver-Brunt at mid-off.

  8. NZ 124-7published at 38 overs

As with the previous over, a new batter comes in - this time Jess Kerr - comes in faces three dot balls to begin their innings.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37.3 overs

    A Kerr c & b Dean 43 (NZ 124-7)

There's an attempt at cracking on... and it goes badly!

Kerr fires the ball straight back into the hands of bowler Charlie Dean, who takes a sharp catch dropping to a knee.

The New Zealand number three goes for 43 from 86 balls - could have done with being rather hastier.

In the 37th over, Sophie Ecclestone only has one fielder out on the boundary.

    Supreme confidence.

  11. NZ 124-6published at 37 overs

Three balls to start for number eight Isabella Gaze.

New Zealand, and more specifically Amelia Kerr, need to crack on here.

The ball is just starting to turn and that isn't easy to face when you're coming back to the game after a two-year absence.

  13. wicket

    Down b Ecclestone 0 (NZ 124-6)

    Down goes for a duck!

She prods defensively at Ecclestone's delivery, only to see the ball turn sharply past her bat and knock over her stumps.

Lovely bowling from the England spinner, as per.

I feel sorry for Lauren Down here. She's come into a situation where her team haven't had a great innings so far and she's got to get a move on against the best two bowlers in the world.

  15. NZ 123-5published at 36 overs

In comes Lauren Down, at the non-striker's end initially as Kerr faces up to Charlie Dean.

A single into the leg side brings her on strike, and she fends off three dot balls.

That is interesting. The missed stumping came from extra bounce, but that kept a little low.

There is a little bit of inconsistent bounce in this pitch. Not demons as such, just a little bit of inconsistent bounce, and that is all someone like Sophie Ecclestone needs.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 35 overs

    Halliday b Ecclestone 6 (NZ 122-5)

Halliday goes at the second attempt!

The New Zealand batter takes a big waft at Sophie Ecclestone, offering a feather edge that's put down by Amy Jones standing up behind the stumps.

No matter - she departs two balls later, her off stump poleaxed as she attempted to sweep the England spinner away.
